About the Role

We are seeking motivated freelancers to join the Windows Community Forum team on Microsoft Learn. As a freelancer, you will play a vital role in supporting users worldwide by managing community threads, providing accurate solutions, and ensuring a positive experience for all members.

This is a flexible opportunity for individuals who want to develop their technical expertise while earning income through community support activities.

Key Deliverables

1. Community Thread Management

  • Review and respond to user questions in the Windows Community Forum.
  • Monitor assigned community threads and ensure questions receive appropriate attention.
  • Maintain a professional, respectful, and helpful interaction with community members.

2. Technical Support & Problem Resolution

  • Research user issues using approved knowledge bases and training materials.
  • Provide clear, accurate, and solution-oriented responses.
  • Help users understand available solutions and relevant Microsoft resources.

3. Escalation & Follow-up

  • Escalate unresolved or advanced cases for senior support or moderator review.
  • Follow up where appropriate to ensure community members receive adequate support.
  • Identify issues that require additional technical investigation.

4. Compliance & Confidentiality

  • Protect user information and maintain confidentiality.
  • Follow community guidelines, approved processes, and training materials.
  • Adhere to applicable Microsoft community standards and Code of Conduct requirements.

Essential Qualities

Essential Qualities
  • Strong written communication skills with a professional, respectful, and empathetic tone.
  • Ability to follow community guidelines, procedures, and training materials closely.
  • Technical knowledge of Windows and Microsoft products is preferred.
  • Experience in online support, customer service, community moderation, or technical troubleshooting is an advantage.
  • Strong attention to accuracy and detail.
  • Ability to research technical issues and communicate solutions clearly.
  • Commitment to confidentiality and solution-oriented customer support.

Training & Tools

Training and supporting resources will be provided, including:

  • Community guidelines and etiquette training.
  • Access to knowledge base documents, FAQs, and troubleshooting guides.
  • Hands-on practice with the IXPT Tool for thread management.
  • Simulated practice threads before handling live cases.
