Job Description

Handicap International (Humanity & Inclusion) has been working in the DRC since 1995 in the fields of humanitarian action, development and logistics.

In Kinshasa , HI implements development projects focused on physical and functional rehabilitation, maternal and child health, inclusive education, inclusive governance and economic inclusion.

In Kasai and Kasai Central , following development interventions, HI has deployed food security projects since 2016, followed by economic inclusion and inclusive education projects.

In North Kivu , HI is implementing several projects, including in mental health (mobile clinics), emergency response, integrated rehabilitation, economic inclusion, basic needs and humanitarian logistics through the ATLAS Logistics platform , with a possible deployment of transport activities.

In South Kivu , HI plans to open its first office in Uvira in the second half of 2026 to strengthen its humanitarian response. Two projects will be deployed there: a mental health project (CDCS) and a humanitarian logistics project via ATLAS Logistique .

The 2026-2028 operational strategy , validated in 2025, aims to strengthen and diversify HI's interventions, particularly in Eastern DRC, with an emphasis on emergency response, protection, economic recovery, access to care and rehabilitation services, as well as the development of strategic partnerships.

Context and mission:

Handicap International Programme DRC is seeking to recruit the above profiles to build its talent pool in Uvira. They will be contacted as needed for operational purposes.

Essential Qualities

Essential Qualities
  • University degree related to the desired profile or in an equivalent field.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in humanitarian or development projects, ideally within an NGO.
  • Good knowledge of humanitarian principles, protection and inclusion.
  • Good command of French and local languages ​​spoken in the intervention area
  • Knowledge of common computer tools (MS Office).
  • Good communication, teamwork and organizational skills.
  • Experience with Handicap International is an asset.
