Zeus Microfinance Bank is licensed by the Central Bank of Nigeria to carry on the business of providing financial services such as savings and deposits, loans, domestic funds transfer and non-financial services to microfinance clients in Abuja and environs.


We are recruiting to fill the position below:


Job Title: System Admin Officer


Location: Kubwa, Abuja (FCT)

Scope of The Role


Responsible for providing technical assistance and support to end-users company wide. This role entails diagnosing and resolving hardware, software, and network-related issues, ensuring smooth operation of IT systems, and delivering excellent customer service to internal teams.

Key Deliverables

  • Technical Support: Provide first-level support for IT issues, including troubleshooting and resolving hardware, software, and network problems in a timely and efficient manner.
  • System Setup & Maintenance: Install, configure, maintain and setup work stations, desktops, laptops, printers, and other peripheral devices. Perform regular system updates, software installations, and patch management.
  • User Support: Assist employees with all system related issues, configuration, and usage of company IT systems and tools, email setup, permissions, passwords, collaboration tools, security protocols etc.
  • Incident Management/System Upgrades: Log, prioritize, and manage support requests using ticketing systems, escalating issues when necessary, and ensuring timely resolution of technical problems.
  • Network Support: Assist with basic network troubleshooting, such as connectivity issues, VPN setup, network maintenance and system Upgrade, Security Configurations, Wi-Fi troubleshooting etc.
  • Security Compliance/Privacy: Ensure that end-users follow IT security policies and guidelines, such as password management, data protection, and system access.
  • Documentation/ Records: Maintain records of IT support requests, resolutions, and common technical issues to aid in faster troubleshooting in the future. Also maintain records/logs of repairs and fixes and maintenance schedule.
  • Inventory Management: Keep track of IT assets, including hardware inventory and software licenses, ensuring equipment is maintained and replaced as needed.
  • Training and Support: Provide guidance and technical training to users on the use of new software and hardware, and cybersecurity awareness ensuring a high level of IT literacy within the organization.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with other IT team members to ensure seamless integration of IT services and the resolution of technical issues.
  • Continuous Learning: Stay up to date with the latest trends, technologies, and best practices and apply them to the relevant processes.
  • Requisitions: Identify computer or network equipment shortages and place orders. Configure and install various network devices and services (e.g., routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, VPN, QoS).
  • Data Backup: Use high-speed transaction recovery techniques for data backup.
  • Research: Research and make recommendations on server system administration.
  • Reports: Write comprehensive reports including assessment-based findings, outcomes and propositions for further system security enhancement.

Essential Qualities

Essential Qualities
  • Minimum of Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 1-2 years of experience in an IT support role or related technical field.
  • Certification as IT Technician will be an advantage (e.g. CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified IT Professional).
  • Experience with firewalls, Internet VPN’s remote implementation, troubleshooting, and problem resolution is desired.
  • Familiarity with backup and recovery software and methodologies.
  • Hands on experience in networking, routing and switching.
  • Familiarity with cloud services (e.g., Microsoft 365, Google Workspace) and VPNs.
  • Certification in CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP), or similar IT support credentials.
  • Strong understanding of computer systems, networks, operating systems (Windows, macOS, Linux), and mobile devices.
  • Ability to quickly diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and network issues.
  • Must relate respectfully with other Team Members and possess a very high level of emotional intelligence.
  • Experience with ticketing systems, remote desktop support tools, and system monitoring software
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize issues based on urgency.
