Key Deliverables

  • Manages the field office support staff and the intervention area;
  • Adheres to and complies with NRC policies, guidelines and procedures:
  • Manages day-to-day human resources, administration, accounting, logistics and security for the field office.
  • Ensures compliance with NRC policies, manuals, procedures, standard operating procedures and guidelines. 

Specific responsibilities

  • Ensures contact with administrative services (DGRPI…) and local operational coordination bodies;
  • Ensures the implementation of service and product supplier catalogues to aid in informed programming;
  • Maintains contact with local and administrative authorities;
  • Supports implementation partners in compliance with procedures as set out in the various contracts and partnership agreements;
  • Ensures the development of the support team's capabilities and the transfer of key skills.
  • In conjunction with the Support Manager, provides support for the implementation of projects in the area.
  • Collaborates and liaises with local authorities and relevant stakeholders.
  • Promotes the rights of internally displaced persons and returnees in line with the advocacy strategy.
  • Ensures the rational use of resources and fair and efficient allocation according to the planning of the different departments and projects;

Essential Qualities

General professional skills:

  • Work experience in a support role within a humanitarian or recovery context.
  • Experience working in complex, volatile, and difficult-to-access environments;
  • Documented results relating to the responsibilities of the position
  • Advanced knowledge of English, both spoken and written.
  • Significant experience in managing a large team.
  • Context-specific skills, knowledge and experience:
  • Hold a university degree representing 5 years of study in Economics and/or Management, Pedagogy, Law or its equivalent.
  • Have a minimum of 3 years of professional experience in humanitarian activities and activity coordination.
  • Possess project management skills.
  • Possess good planning and activity monitoring skills.
  • To have a strong analytical ability.
  • Ability to work in a team and in a heterogeneous environment.
  • To have good writing skills in French.
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in team management
  • Proficiency in computer tools (Windows, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
