Job Description

Under the direct hierarchical supervision of the CFM, the Senior National Finance Officer is responsible for ensuring the sound financial management of the ACTED Great Lakes mission (DRC, Republic of Congo and Burundi) in accordance with the ACTED finance manual, internal procedures and donor requirements.

He/she ensures the proper implementation and adherence to financial procedures at the national coordination level as well as at the mission's field offices. He/she contributes to the smooth functioning of the Finance department while ensuring effective coordination with other support and program departments to enable ACTED teams to provide quality humanitarian assistance to beneficiaries.

The Senior National Finance Officer works under the direct supervision of the CFM and may be required to replace him/her as required by operational needs.

This job description outlines the main responsibilities associated with the position. However, the Senior National Finance Officer may be required to undertake any other task deemed necessary for the smooth operation of the Finance department and ACTED's operations.

Essential Qualities

Essential Qualities

Training

  • University degree (Bachelor's or Master's) in Financial Management, Accounting, Economics or any other equivalent field;
  • Good command of computer tools, particularly the Office Suite (especially Excel);
  • Good knowledge of financial management tools and software.

Experience

  • Minimum five (05) years of experience in financial management, ideally within an international NGO;
  • Good understanding of the financial and budgetary management of humanitarian or development projects.

Skills and qualities required

  • To be of Congolese (DRC) nationality;
  • Demonstrate rigor, organization, and professional discretion;
  • Having a good capacity for adaptation, autonomy and a high sense of integrity;
  • Ability to work under pressure and in a multicultural environment;
  • Possess good analytical and communication skills.

LANGUAGES

  • Excellent command of spoken and written French is required;
  • Knowledge of English is an asset.
