Job Description

Hakki Africa Ltd. is a fast-growing Car financing Company, seeking to recruit a proactive & organized Legal Assistant to support the Legal Dept. The successful candidate will play a key role in facilitating communication between the company & its external legal counsel, ensuring efficient case management and timely follow-up on all legal matters.

Key Deliverables

  • Serve as the primary contact between the Company and outsourced lawyers.
  • Follow up on ongoing legal cases and maintain updated case records.
  • Prepare and share periodic reports on case status and legal expenses.
  • Coordinate the signing, dispatch, and filing/retrieval of legal documents and correspondences.
  • Track court dates, hearing schedules, and deadlines in collaboration with external lawyers.
  • Support internal departments by coordinating responses and documentation required for legal processes and Compliance.

Essential Qualities

Essential Qualities
  • Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Business Administration(corporate law/contracts/compliance.), Law, Criminology, Public Administration, Political Science, Corporate Governance, or a related field(Carry your academic certificates to the interview). 
  • At least 1–3 years’ experience in a legal or compliance role—preferably within a financial institution or professional services firm.
  • Strong organizational, communication, coordination and report-writing skills.
  • Good understanding of Kenyan legal processes and court procedures.
  • Proficiency in Google services(Google Workspace)
  • Professional, ethical and discreet in handling sensitive information/matters.
  • Detail-oriented, reliable, proactive and results-oriented, with the ability to follow through on tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively with multiple stakeholders.
  • High integrity and commitment to quality work.
