MissionsThe job holder must:

  • Supervise and coordinate all logistics and port operations at the Kinshasa dry port site;
  • To ensure the proper execution of handling, storage, receiving and shipping operations for goods;
  • Optimize logistics flows and ensure compliance of operations with quality, safety and customs regulations requirements;
  • To supervise and lead operational teams to ensure performance, safety and customer satisfaction;
  • Ensure regular reporting of activity to management.

Key Deliverables

1. Operational management of the dry port:

  • Plan, organize and control the daily operations of handling, storing and transferring goods;
  • Supervise the receipt, unloading, storage and delivery of containers and cargo;
  • Ensure the availability and proper use of logistics equipment (carts, cranes, vehicles, etc.);
  • Ensure that operations comply with customs, security and quality requirements.

2. Team supervision:

  • Supervise operational teams (dock managers, handlers, drivers, logistics agents);
  • Define individual and collective objectives, evaluate performance and ensure skills development;
  • Promote a culture of safety, discipline and efficiency among staff;
  • Ensure coordination with other departments (maintenance, security, HR).

3. Quality, safety and compliance monitoring:

  • Ensure compliance with QHSE procedures and regulatory conformity of port operations;
  • Identify risks and implement corrective and preventive actions;
  • Participate in internal and external audits.

4. Administrative management and reporting:

  • Maintain up-to-date daily, weekly and monthly activity reports;
  • Analyze performance indicators and propose continuous improvement plans;
  • Monitor operating costs and contribute to controlling the operating budget.

5. Customer and partner relations:

  • Ensuring customer satisfaction and smooth communication with external partners (freight forwarders, customs, carriers);
  • Manage complaints and resolve operational disputes;
  • Participate in improving services and building customer loyalty.

Performance indicators:

  • Compliance with execution deadlines and safety procedures;
  • Customer satisfaction rate and absence of major incidents;
  • Optimization of operational performance (productivity rate, controlled costs);
  • Adherence to the budget and performance objectives set.

Essential Qualities

  • Bachelor's degree (4/5 years of higher education) in Logistics, Transport, Operations Management or equivalent;

Experience: * Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar position (port, logistics, warehouse, handling);Languages: * French required, professional English preferred.Required skillsKnow :

  • Solid knowledge of logistics, transport, and port management;
  • Knowledge of customs regulations and import/export procedures;
  • Proficiency in computer tools and logistics management software (TMS, WMS, Excel).
