Job Summary 

  • We are seeking a highly skilled Packaging Machine Maintenance Expert to maintain, troubleshoot, and optimize high-speed flexible packaging lines within our manufacturing facility.
  • The ideal candidate must have strong, hands-on technical experience maintaining Universal Pack continuous-motion vertical sachet machines and Shubham multi-track vertical form-fill-seal (VFFS) machines, with practical knowledge of mechanical, pneumatic, electrical, and machine-control systems.
  • The role will be responsible for ensuring high equipment availability, minimizing downtime, supporting preventive and corrective maintenance activities, and maintaining reliable machine performance.

Key Deliverables

  • Preventive & Corrective Maintenance: Carry out routine inspections, preventive maintenance, mechanical adjustments, servicing, and major overhauls of Universal Pack and Shubham packaging machines.
  • Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve mechanical, pneumatic, electrical, sealing, dosing, and machine-control faults to minimize production downtime.
  • Component Replacement: Inspect and replace high-wear components, including multi-lane liquid/powder dosing pumps, cutting blades, four-side thermal sealing blocks, mechanical multi-track hoppers, and other critical machine components.
  • Machine Setup & Adjustment: Carry out machine setup, adjustment, alignment, changeover, and synchronization of critical mechanical and packaging components.
  • Line Optimization: Monitor and adjust machine speed, web tension, sealing temperature, dosing systems, and other operating parameters to maintain efficient production and consistent packaging quality.
  • Pneumatic Systems: Troubleshoot pneumatic circuits, cylinders, valves, regulators, sensors, and associated components used in packaging machinery.
  • Electrical & Control Systems: Carry out basic electrical fault-finding and PLC-related diagnostics, particularly where faults affect machine operation, temperature control, sensors, or automated web-guiding systems.
  • Autonomous Maintenance: Support operators in routine equipment inspection, cleaning, lubrication, basic adjustments, and early identification of machine abnormalities.
  • Downtime Reduction: Identify recurring equipment failures and recommend corrective actions to improve machine reliability and reduce unplanned downtime.
  • Maintenance Documentation: Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, machine faults, spare parts replaced, and equipment performance.
  • Safety & Compliance: Ensure maintenance activities are carried out in accordance with applicable safety procedures, including proper isolation and Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) practices.
  • Technical Support: Work closely with production and maintenance teams to resolve equipment-related issues and support continuous improvement initiatives.

Essential Qualities

Essential Qualities
  • OND, HND, B.Sc., or B.Eng. in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related technical discipline.
  • Minimum of 3–5 years of verifiable, hands-on experience maintaining high-speed multi-lane sachet or pouch packaging machines in an FMCG, homecare, personal care, food, or similar manufacturing environment.
  • Practical experience with Universal Pack packaging machines is strictly required.
  • Practical experience with Shubham multi-track VFFS/collar-type packaging machines is strictly required.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, machine timing, alignment, and adjustment.
  • Good understanding of pneumatic systems used in automated packaging machinery.
  • Practical experience with multi-lane liquid or powder dosing systems.
  • Practical knowledge of thermal sealing systems and sealing parameter adjustment.
  • Basic knowledge of PLC-controlled machinery and ability to diagnose machine faults using available HMI/PLC fault information.
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, pneumatic diagrams, and basic electrical/control diagrams.
  • Good understanding of preventive maintenance practices and machine reliability.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and respond quickly to production breakdowns.
  • Good communication, reporting, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong commitment to workplace safety and good maintenance practices.
