The Local Operations Route Controller is responsible for coordinating and monitoring all local deliveries to ensure on-time and efficient service. The role requires real-time route control, driver communication, and consistent updates to clients. You will manage daily delivery performance, capture Proof of Delivery details, handle operational reports, and assist with route planning.

Key Deliverables

Route Monitoring and Control

  • Monitor all local drivers to ensure scheduled deliveries are completed on time.
  • Track vehicle movements and report any deviations or delays to management.
  • Identify and escalate potential delivery challenges or undeliverable orders.

Client Communication and Service

  • Handle client delivery queries professionally and promptly.
  • Notify clients of any delivery delays, route changes, or undelivered orders.
  • Maintain high standards of customer service and communication accuracy.

Reporting and Administration

  • Update daily ETA and delivery status reports.
  • Capture delivery notes and record all Proofs of Delivery accurately.
  • Maintain organised operational records and ensure audit readiness.
  • Assist in compiling and submitting performance reports.

Route Planning and Coordination

  • Support route planning and optimisation for local deliveries.
  • Work with dispatch and fleet teams to allocate vehicles and resources efficiently.

Support Functions

  • Provide administrative assistance to the National Operations team when required.
  • Answer incoming calls and assist at reception when needed.
  • Perform general office and operational admin tasks to maintain smooth workflow.
