Our client, an international trading company based in Hong Kong, specializing in the distribution and supply of mobile phones, mobile accessories, consumer electronics, audio-visual products, recording equipment, and related accessories, is looking for a Local Channel Manager, to be based in DRC. 

THE JOB 

The ideal candidate will drive sales growth and expand the company’s distribution network in the DRC by developing and managing channel partnerships, executing sales and marketing strategies, and ensuring the achievement of regional business and market penetration objectives.

Key Deliverables

  • Channel Expansion and Development: Responsible for offline channel development for all categories of mobile phones and Alot products (smartphones, smart accessories, smart home devices, commercial smart terminals etc.) in the DRC. Identify and tap into local resources including dealers, distributors, retail stores, and wholesale market merchants. Build and optimize a comprehensive regional sales channel network to achieve channel penetration targets. 
  • Channel Maintenance and Optimization: Maintain relations with existing channel clients, pay regular visits to terminal stores and partner distributors, and track client business status, inventory turnover, and sales performance. Promptly resolve issues regarding supply, price adjustment, after-sales service, and policy execution to boost customer stickiness and repurchase rate, ensuring stable channel operations. 
  • Market Execution & Sales Driving: Take ownership of sales targets for smartphones, feature phones, and Alot products assigned by the company. Formulate regional channel sales plans and execute stock distribution, promotional events, terminal displays, and new product launches to assist channel clients in driving end-user sales, fulfilling individual and regional sales targets. 
  • Local Market Research: Conduct deep research into the local consumer electronics and Alot market trends in the DRC. Keep abreast of competitors pricing systems, product iterations, channel policies, and marketing campaigns in real-time. Uncover local consumer needs and market pain points to produce regular market research reports, providing effective insights for the company’s product adaptation, pricing, and channel policy optimization.  
  • Policy Implementation & Channel Empowerment: Accurately convey the company’s investment policies, rebate structures, new product updates, and promotional strategies to partner channels. Provide channel clients with fundamental training on product knowledge, sales techniques, and store operations, assisting them in optimizing store management models to elevate overall channel profitability 
  • Data Review & Ledger Management: Collect, organize, and review regional channel figures, sales metrics, and inventory data. Maintain complete and detailed client ledgers, and regularly report business progress, performance achievements, market issues, and optimization plans to supervisors. 
  • Local Brand Promotion: Align with corporate branding initiatives to drive local terminal brand exposure, storefront image upgrades, and regional marketing activities, continuously enhancing FSD brand visibility and market penetration within the DRC. 

Essential Qualities

Essential Qualities
  • More than 3 years of experience in channel sales or channel expansion within the DRC mobile phone, smart hardware, Alot products, or 3C digital industry. 
  • Familiar with product selling points and technical features of smartphones, smart accessories, and smart home AIot products. 
  • Possess foundational capabilities in market analysis, business negotiation, client acquisition and maintenance with the ability to independently manage the full cycle of channel negotiation, signing, and execution. 

The ideal candidate should possess the following skills and competencies. 

  • Familiar with the local consumer electronics market in DRC. 
  • Strong sense of objective, excellent stress tolerance, and high execution capability, with a strong drive to challenge sales targets. 
  • Honest, trustworthy with a high sense of responsibility, good business reputation, and teamwork spirit. 
  • Adaptable to local business travel and field market visits, with rapid adaptability to the working environment. 
  • Proficient in French. Conversational English is an added advantage.
