Job Summary

  • We are seeking a skilled and experienced Lathe Machine Engineer to operate, maintain, and troubleshoot lathe machines within our production workshop.
  • The ideal candidate will have strong technical knowledge of machining operations, precision measurement, equipment maintenance, and engineering drawings to support efficient manufacturing processes.

Key Deliverables

  • Operate conventional and/or CNC lathe machines safely and efficiently.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications.
  • Produce precision components according to required dimensions and tolerances.
  • Set up machines, select appropriate tools, and adjust machine settings for optimal performance.
  • Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on lathe machines and workshop equipment.
  • Inspect finished products using precision measuring instruments such as micrometers and vernier calipers.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and operational standards.
  • Collaborate with maintenance and production teams to minimize downtime.
  • Maintain accurate production and maintenance records.
  • Recommend process improvements to enhance productivity and machine efficiency.

Essential Qualities

Essential Qualities
  • Minimum of OND / HND / B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering, or related field.
  • Proven experience operating lathe machines in a manufacturing or engineering environment.
  • Knowledge of CNC programming is an added advantage.
  • Strong understanding of machining techniques, tools, and workshop practices.
  • Ability to read technical drawings and use precision measuring instruments.
  • Good problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience in industrial or factory environments.
  • Knowledge of preventive maintenance practices.
  • Good communication and reporting skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet production deadlines.
