About This Role
The MEAL function is part of the Programs and Sponsorship department in the Country office that supports implementing partners and country programs to streamline the standardization of monitoring and evaluation activities. The MEAL Intern will support data management, accountability mechanisms and foster a culture of knowledge sharing and utilization. This internship targets male and female graduates with a demonstrated interest in growing a career in MEAL within a non-governmental organization.

Results Based Management
- Provide support for annual reviews and reflections with implementing staff and communities and analyze data trends towards achievement of project objectives.
- Support in ensuring quality of existing data, sources and methods of data collection and safe storage of such information in compliance with privacy policies and procedures.
- Support evaluations, assessments and reviews including assistance on the recruitment of Research assistants, data collection, analysis and reporting among others.
Accountability to Affected Populations (AAP)
- Support the operation of Complaints Feedback and Response Mechanisms (CFRM/CFM).
- Assist in receiving, cleaning, logging, and categorizing community feedback.
- Ensure timely referral and follow-up of complaints with relevant departments.
- Participate in community sensitization on accountability channels.
Knowledge Management and Learning
- Assist with report compilation for monthly or quarterly MEAL updates.
- Participate in internal learning workshops and programme reviews.
- Support in ensuring that heads of department are compliant in uploading data and reports into SharePoint repository on a quarterly basis
- Support to prepare high quality information and learning products including infographics, donor pitch decks, project briefs, case studies, success stories etc
- Support the preparation of progress review meetings to discuss progress, challenges and lessons learnt and develop workplans with the project team.
- Support project launch, start up and close out workshops to disseminate stakeholders’ information related to implementation and critical learnings.
- Update the lessons learned and recommendations database tracker from project evaluations and studies.
- Assist in the organization of learning events such as webinars, conferences etc when needed.
- Remain alert and responsive to any safeguarding risks, acquire relevant knowledge and skills which will enable you to promote strong safeguarding practices, understand the safeguarding policy and procedures, and conduct yourself in a manner consistent with the Safeguarding Policy.
