Innovations Technologist at Seabourne Logistics ZA

--Powermax General Electrical Merchants Ltd--

Job Description

We’re scaling automation across operations, finance, and customer workflows. Our outgoing Innovations Technologist built strong momentum with Microsoft Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI Dataflows) and SQL—eliminating manual processes and fostering a culture of experimentation.

We’re now looking for someone to take this further: building apps, optimising integrations, and partnering with our API developer on customer-facing solutions (Shopify, webhooks, HTML/JavaScript).

Tech you’ll use:

Power Apps • Power Automate • Power BI (Dataflows) • SQL Server/Azure SQL • SharePoint/Lists • Teams • REST APIs • Webhooks • HTML/JS • Shopify Admin/API • Git (basic)

How we hire:

  1. Short pre-interview form (via Microsoft List) — 20 quick questions (~10 minutes).
  2. 👉 Apply via QR/link found on https://seabournelogistics.co.za/vacancy/innovations-technologist/
  3. Panel conversation (45 min, MS Teams): portfolio walk-through + scenario discussion.
  4. Practical challenge (take-home or live, 60–90 min): build a small Power Automate flow and SQL/JSON transformation. Optional: a webhook listener.
  5. Offer: made by end of November 2025 for a January 2026 start.

What success looks like in 6 months:

  • 3–5 automations in production, each with measurable time savings and clear ownership.
  • A standard integration pattern (Shopify/webhook → transform → storage → notify) adopted across customers.
  • A well-structured Power Platform environment with clear solutions, naming standards, and versioning.
  • Stakeholders saying: “Wow, that used to take hours.”

How to apply:

  • Step 1: Complete the short pre-interview form (QR/link on our website under "Careers").
  • Step 2: Share a 2–3 project portfolio (screenshots or Looms) highlighting the problem, your solution, and outcomes.
  • Optional: include GitHub snippets for HTML/JS or integration proof-of-concepts.
