Job Description

Drawing on its expertise in rapid response and emergency management of nutritional crises in the areas most in need in the DRC, ACF has successfully deployed large-scale projects addressing the nutritional crisis in Congo thanks to the support of several local and international partners such as the Swedish International Development Agency (SIDA), Global Affairs Canada (GAC), the Crisis and Support Centre (CDCS), the Ministry of Public Health of the Democratic Republic of Congo, the European Civil Protection and Humanitarian Aid Operations (ECHO) among others.

Key Deliverables

 Implement the SAME activities of the project

  • Mastering the project and its challenges, the logical framework and the indicators
  • Actively participate with the RP and RPA in developing the community targeting methodology and vulnerability criteria.
  • Determine the actions to be implemented based on vulnerability criteria and technical feasibility (agricultural calendar, supplier availability, supply, end of project, etc.).
  • Review the project timeline and propose a schedule for implementing the activities.
  • Supervise the implementation and monitoring of agricultural activities, field data collection and local capacity building.
  • Coordinate the monitoring and evaluation of the program with the MEAL teams.
  • Develop a detailed monthly plan and a weekly activity plan for your team.
  • Ensure that gender considerations are respected in all SAME activities.
  • Plan awareness-raising activities related to the organization's fundamental principles and values ​​(Safeguarding policy, anti-fraud/corruption policy, abuse of power) within programmatic activities.

Tasks related to agricultural activities according to the defined methodology and guidelines given by the head of the SAME department, in particular:

  • Targeting beneficiaries.
  • Distribution of seeds and tools.
  • Training for beneficiaries and MONAGRI on agroecological practices.
  • Monitoring of agricultural activities.
  • Have in-depth knowledge of the market in your area;
  • Supervise inventory management.

Mission 2: Reporting and capitalization

  • Centralize, analyze and report data relating to the implementation of SAME activities and related activities.
  • Prepare weekly and monthly activity reports.
  • Prepare capitalization reports on its component.
  • Implementation and monitoring of tools for verifying indicators (area, harvest, agricultural practices, number of beneficiaries trained, etc.)
  • Prepare technical follow-up reports and formulate recommendations (visit reports, germination tests, distribution report, etc.).
  • Control the documentation of SAME activities and the use of documents.
  • Actively participate in assessments of the food security situation, propose areas for improvement with a view to capitalizing on experience.
  • To carry out quality archiving (training modules, training evaluations, computer data, summaries and reports).

Mission 3: External Coordination, Relaying the organization's activities and objectives to local communities and partners

  • Participate in external coordination meetings with other stakeholders present (clusters, etc.) at the request of the RPA;
  • Develop contacts, identify and evaluate local stakeholders, and explain the project's activities and objectives to local partners and the population;
  • Ensuring proper information and good relations with local authorities and key representatives of the targeted communities;
  • To popularize all the actions and interventions carried out by the organization in the region
  • Inform local authorities (administrative, traditional and religious) of all aspects of the program in collaboration with the RPA and the RP;
  • Identify and evaluate local stakeholders (associations, cooperatives, committees, etc.), raise awareness among them about ACF's activities and identify local partners for the project;
  • Working in collaboration with identified local partners, including MONAGRI;
  • Ensure joint work with technical agencies (ITASA, SENASEM) and compliance with memoranda of understanding;
  • To defend the views developed by ACF-France, namely the basic principles of ACF-France which he becomes aware of by integrating into the NGO, and the positions developed during the progress of the program, in consultation between himself, the project manager and the rest of the team;
  • Participate in any other task related to the project and the activities of ACF-France.

Mission 4: Managing your teams

  • Supervise and manage the team members under their direct responsibility
  • Managing schedules, work allocation and coordination
  • Facilitate team meetings and one-on-one check-ins with team members
  • Develop staff objectives and performance plans, individual action plans (IAPs) and conduct performance reviews (mid-term, final)
  • Identify the training needs of team members
  • Participate in the recruitment of your direct team
  • Participate, with the help of HR, in the disciplinary process concerning members of your team
  • To encourage respect for the charter, the fight against fraud and abuse of power, and Safeguarding.

Professional Qualifications

Industry Qualification
Agriculture, Apiculture, Agronomy, Forestry, Fishing And Hunting Degree/Education Level/Experience: Master's degree (Bac + 5) in agronomy or solid university training in food security. Two years of prior experience in a similar position within an international NGO At least 2 years of experience in team management (required)
