Key Deliverables

  • Manage and oversee daily engineering and maintenance operations across mechanical, electrical, utilities, and fabrication units in alignment with departmental plans from the HOD Engineering.
  • Develop and implement Preventive Maintenance (PM) and Predictive Maintenance (PdM)schedules.
  • Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns, lead troubleshooting activities, and ensure timely restoration of production equipment.
  • Maintain accurate documentation, including machine history files, maintenance logs, equipment performance records, and work permits.
  • Plan and supervise installation, modification, and upgrading of machines, ensuring that all engineering projects meet safety and technical specifications.
  • Monitor equipment performance, analyze failure trends, and implement long-term corrective and reliability-centered solutions to minimize downtime.
  • Supervise major repairs, including equipment overhauls, and commissioning of new installations with supervision of the HOD engineering.
  • Conduct routine hazard identification, risk assessments, and safety inspections, ensuring full compliance with HSE procedures, engineering safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Verify quality of maintenance work, ensuring all repairs, replacements, and installations meet engineering and production quality standards.
  • Collaborate with the Engineering Store Supervisor to ensure availability of critical spare parts, proper inventory control, and adherence to cost-effective materials management.
  • Supervise engineering personnel, including technicians, mechanics, electricians, and utilities staff; provide coaching, discipline, and performance management.
  • Support technical competence development, ensuring that engineers and technicians receive continuous training in equipment maintenance, safety, and technical upgrades.
  • Assist in preparingthe engineering reports (breakdown analyses, maintenance performance, reliability statistics, and improvement recommendations) alongside the HOD Engineering and submit to the management for informed decision-making.

Essential Qualities

Essential Qualities
  • Applicant should have minimum of B.Sc Degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • 7 - 10 years of engineering/maintenance experience in a manufacturing or chemical industry, with at least 3 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
  • NSE or COREN (Preferred); HSE Level 3; Certification in equipment maintenance or reliability engineering is an added advantage.
  • Mechanical systems maintenance, preventive & predictive maintenance, troubleshooting, reliability engineering, project planning & execution, utilities management (boilers, compressors, generators), engineering drawings, technical documentation, and equipment commissioning.
  • Strong leadership and team management ability; excellent communication skills; analytical thinking; problem-solving; decision-making; attention to detail; time management; high safety consciousness; integrity and accountability.
