- Context
Maison Shalom is a non-governmental, non-profit organization founded by Marguerite Barankitse in 1993 in Ruyigi, Burundi, to address the needs of populations in distress during and after periods of conflict. Since 2015, it has been registered in Rwanda to support the efforts of other actors who share the same values of dignity and compassion for humanity, particularly towards vulnerable people.
Maison Shalom intervenes in various fields including Education, Economic Support and psycho-social support within a humanitarian framework to strengthen the capacities of communities.
Maison Shalom provides a multi-sectoral emergency response to displaced persons and/or refugees, returnees and the host population.
The main area of intervention is the Mahama camp located in the Kirehe district.
It is in this area that Maison Shalom has an internal vocational training center in various trades as well as external centers.
It is within the framework of ensuring the management, coordination and monitoring of the activities of the Employment Office that Maison Shalom wishes to recruit an Employment Office officer in order to strengthen the management of the professional integration of its learners.
- Job objective
Under the supervision of the Head of the Education Program , the Employment Office Officer's main objective is to promote vocational training and the socio-professional integration of all graduates of the Maison Shalom education program.
He/she will support graduates from various professions and universities in their transition to the world of work, facilitating their access to employment, internship, further training or self-employment opportunities, while developing their autonomy, employability and self-confidence.

Without being exhaustive, the main tasks of the employment office officer are as follows, with 70% of their time spent in Mahama, Kirehe district:
To ensure the planning, implementation and monitoring of the activities of the Employment Office:
- Supporting young learners in defining their career goals and preparing them for active job searching (interviews, CVs, cover letters, etc.).
- Establish, develop and maintain partnerships with local businesses, institutions and other structures that can accommodate young people (internships, jobs, further training).
- Organize career guidance workshops, coaching sessions, or workshops for developing transferable skills (soft skills).
- To individually monitor each vocational learner in their journey towards employment or self-employment (creation of micro-enterprises, income-generating activities, etc.).
- Participate in the implementation of integration programs and propose avenues for improvement or new partnerships.
- Collaborate closely with trainers and the Maison Shalom education team to ensure a holistic approach to support. • Provide regular activity reports, with monitoring indicators (placement rates, number of young people supported, types of opportunities created, etc.).
