Tender Notice for Construction of Fodder Storage Hanger in Kayonza District

Kilimo Trust (KT) is a not-for-profit organization working on agriculture and agribusiness for development and creation of employment opportunities across East Africa (Rwanda, Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania, and Burundi).

Kilimo Trust Rwanda in collaboration with Rwanda Agriculture and Animal Resources Development Board (RAB) is implementing the RDDP-II which aims to reduce the poverty level of targeted rural households and mitigate the impact of the dairy sector on climate change. The project development objective is to enhance the income, nutrition and resilience of rural households through a more inclusive, sustainable, digitalized and competitive dairy sector.

RDDP-2 is implemented in 27 of the 30 districts of Rwanda. Under RDDP Project, Kilimo Trust is responsible for establishment of youth-led fodder production and Marketing Hub at Nyawera site in Mwiri Sector of Kayonza District, Eastern Province of Rwanda to support the broader objectives of RDDP II to enhance livestock productivity and improve resilience to drought in Eastern Province, while supporting job creation and entrepreneurship for youth.

2.1 Site visit

For the interested bidders, a Compulsory site visit is scheduled on Monday 6thApril 2026 at 10:00 am to the site of construction at Nyawera site, Mwiri Sector of Kayonza District. The visit will be led by Kilimo Trust Rwanda and contact phone number to confirm the set off venue is +250 780208285. Kilimo Trust will not reimburse bidders for inspection costs.

2.2 scope bid

Kilimo Trust though RDDP II Project invites all eligible bidders to submit their bids for the tender of constructing for fodder storage hanger in Nyawera site, MWIRI Sector of Kayonza District as detailed in technical specifications and proposed drawing of the facility as detailed on attachment. 

2.3 Duration of the work 

The work will be done within two months from the date of signing the contract, probably starting on 1st May 2026.

2.4 Bidder eligibility criteria and documents to be submitted.

Interested bidders must demonstrate their ability to meet the terms and obligations of the Contract and to this end their offers must provide the required documents as follows:

1. Bidding letter addressed to the Procurement of Kilimo Trust.
2. Priced Bill of Quantities with clearly quoted unit prices (VAT inclusive, exclusive or exempted).
3. Registration Certificate issued by RDB.
4. Valid Clearance Certificate issued by Rwanda Social Security Board (RSSB), 
5. Valid tax clearance issued by Rwanda Revenue Authority.
6. Similar works proven by good completion certificates and its contract.
7. Certified financial statement of the year 2025
8. Good standing offered by RDB
9. The proof of EBM Possession.
10. Timeline for construction works.
11. Promise to provide certified credit line from the bank of 30% on the total of financial proposal submitted or other source of finance proof.
