As a Supply Chain Specialist, you will be responsible for the following:
- Manage end-to-end procurement processes from sourcing through to delivery and payment
- Support annual budgeting and drive cost optimisation initiatives across the business
- Ensure all purchase requisitions and purchase orders are aligned with approved budgets and company procedures
- Manage supplier engagement, tendering processes, and vendor performance in line with contractual obligations and SLAs
- Maintain and improve procurement, logistics, and warehouse management processes
- Partner with Legal to ensure supplier contracts and compliance requirements are in place
- Support logistics planning and mobilisation activities for operational and project requirements
- Conduct supplier due diligence and support supplier onboarding processes
- Monitor supplier KPIs, identify cost-saving opportunities, and implement continuous improvement initiatives
- Drive B-BBEE compliance requirements across the supplier base
- Act as the primary point of contact for warehouse management service providers
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, ethics, governance, and company policies
- Collaborate with Operations, Finance, Projects, and Group Supply Chain teams to improve supply chain performance and reporting
- Provide regular reporting and forecasting analysis relating to supplier spend, performance, and operational delivery.
Requirements for the role
- Education: Degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Finance, or a related field
- Experience: Minimum of 3 – 5 years’ experience in Supply Chain Management, preferably within telecoms, oil & gas, power, or similar industries
- Certifications: MCIPS/CIPS qualification preferred; Lean Six Sigma Green Belt advantageous
- Technical: Strong understanding of procurement processes, inventory management, vendor management, and supply chain best practices
- Language: Fluency in English
- Other: Willingness to travel as required for business needs; experience working in South Africa and within a large or listed organisation preferred.
