Job Description

We are looking to recruit SEVEN Driver-Mechanics, including 3 in Kinshasa, 1 in Mbankana, 1 in Tshikapa and 2 in Bunia, to carry out the tasks of transporting Street Child project staff and equipment to implementation sites, including schools, as well as vehicle maintenance and assistance with administrative functions.

Key Deliverables

Transport project staff, including partner staff, consultants, and other visitors, to implementation sites, workshops/meetings, and various events in and around the home office, as required.
Ensure passenger safety by politely reminding them of safety procedures on board the vehicle.
Perform or schedule maintenance services and ensure that project vehicles are clean and in good working order.
Monitor vehicle maintenance regulations and licenses and make recommendations to the Program Assistant or the Administrative and Financial Manager for necessary actions.
Report any malfunctions or suspected vehicle problems and propose solutions.
Ensure that vehicles have sufficient fuel at all times and are in working order.
Maintain vehicle/driver logbooks.
Update all vehicle documents and verify vehicle insurance and all other registration documents.
Providing protocol services to support visitors (assistance with airport formalities, drop-off and pick-up, etc.)

Professional Qualifications

Industry Qualification
Driving Minimum of 5 years of experience with an NGO/international organization. Experience driving manual transmission vehicles, both left- and right-hand drive. Basic knowledge of/familiarity with car maintenance. Excellent oral and written communication skills in French. Motivated, courteous, and humble. Ability to work under pressure and integrate into a diverse team, and availability to work outside normal working hours as needed. Ability to collaborate and communicate effectively with team members and a proven ability to work as part of a team. Must be well-informed and able to unconditionally adhere to the zero-tolerance policies regarding fraud or harassment of any kind against other team members and others, as outlined in the Street Child Code of Conduct. Must be a Congolese national, preferably from the region where the candidate is applying. Street Child does not cover the relocation expenses of staff retained for a position outside their home region. It is understood that the candidate is applying for the position in the city or town where they reside (or are originally from). The final interviews will be conducted in person.
