  The position

1. CONTEXT

As part of the implementation of the Permanent Secretariat of the Permanent Dialogue Mechanism of ITURIANS, afflicted by the security situation born of community conflicts and local armed groups, which cause thousands of deaths, injuries, and displacements. The main mission of this framework is to create an environment conducive to the taking and acceptance of the Secretariat's decisions and an atmosphere of open dialogue. CONGO PEACE CENTER with the technical support of SODEICO Manpower is recruiting a research and documentation officer.The incumbent in this position will be responsible for the strategic and operational management of programs, coordinating activities between stakeholders and ensuring the effectiveness of initiatives.

Key Deliverables

The Research and Documentation Officer will assume the following duties and responsibilities:

  • Carry out strategic monitoring of trends and innovations in the humanitarian sector in order to optimize interventions and programs;
  • Design and manage studies and analyses to improve the impact of projects and identify new opportunities for action;
  • Ensure the collection, analysis and interpretation of data from field interventions in order to guide strategic decisions;
  • Develop and test new approaches and methodologies adapted to the needs of beneficiaries and operational constraints;
  • Collaborate with field teams to integrate research findings into program planning and execution;
  • Write analytical reports and recommendations based on study results to improve project implementation;
  • Monitor and evaluate pilot projects to identify best practices and necessary adjustments;
  • Strengthen the capacities of internal teams in research and innovation through training and experience sharing sessions;
  • Manage relationships with academic, institutional and donor partners to strengthen collaboration and funding opportunities;
  • Ensure compliance of research and development projects with donor requirements, humanitarian standards and current regulations;
  • Ensure document supervision: Collect, organize, classify and archive project documents (reports, studies, technical sheets, testimonials, etc.);
  • Ensure the dissemination of knowledge: Set up tools to share documentary resources with stakeholders;
  • Compliance with standards: Ensure the application of document management and sensitive data confidentiality standards.

  • Excellent analytical and synthesis skills to interpret data and propose relevant recommendations;
  • Proficiency in qualitative and quantitative research tools and methodologies (SPSS, KoboToolbox, Excel, etc.).
  • In-depth knowledge of humanitarian issues and innovative approaches to project development.
  • Advanced skills in writing reports, strategic notes and research documents.
  • Ability to work in a team and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders (NGOs, donors, academic institutions).
  • Excellent project management skills, including monitoring, evaluation and capitalization of experiences.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and meet deadlines in a constantly changing environment.
  • Proficiency in relevant working languages ​​(French, English, others depending on the context).
  • Sense of innovation and critical thinking to develop new approaches and solutions adapted to humanitarian challenges.
  • Ability to work under pressure and adapt to emergency and development contexts.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  • University degree (bac+5 minimum) in social sciences, research or an equivalent field.
  • Minimum 4 years of professional experience in research, data analysis and documentation, preferably in the field of conflict or peace studies.

LANGUAGES

  • Perfect written and oral command of French and English;
  • Perfect command of the local language including SWAHILI is an asset

COMPUTING

  • Proficiency in office tools (Microsoft Office, logistics management software, ERP)
