Nonviolent Peaceforce (NP) is a dynamic international non-governmental organization. We work with people affected by violent conflict to improve their safety and dignity through Unarmed Civilian Protection (UCP). We are working to reduce violence, protect civilians in countries affected by violent conflict and its aftermath, and elp transform the world's response to conflict.

Overview:

NP is in the process of setting up its national programme in the DRC to support the strengthening of the safety and security of conflict-affected communities in South and North Kivu. Through the Unarmed Civilian Protection (UCP), NP supports local communities to prevent violence and promote positive peace. NP programming will focus on building the capacity of local communities to engage in nonviolent self-protection methods such as protective accompaniment/presence, community-led safety and security initiatives such as conflict de-escalation techniques, and early warning/response mechanisms. The funding obtained spans several years and offers an exciting opportunity to be at the forefront of sustainable civilian protection.

Job Summary:

The Reporting and Learning Officer plays a key role in ensuring quality reporting, rigorous monitoring of project indicators, and the promotion of a learning culture within the NP DRC team. In close collaboration with the Program Development and Advocacy Officer (PDAM), he/she supports field teams in the development of analytical skills, the documentation of impact, and the integration of learnings into activities.

Reporting et documentation

• Write, review and finalize narrative reports for donors, in coordination with the field and finance teams.
• Ensure quality, consistency, and timeliness for all narrative reports.
• Develop and improve internal tools and formats for information gathering and report writing.
• Support the capitalization of learnings and success stories for internal and external use.
• Contribute to internal reporting requirements (quarterly reports, updates for headquarters, etc.).

2. Monitoring of indicators

• In collaboration with global MEAL development, support the DRC team to develop and implement monitoring tools and frameworks
• Collaborate with program teams to collect, verify and analyze data related to project indicators.
• Monitor progress against logical frameworks, expected results and donor requirements.
• Train and support field teams in the correct and consistent use of monitoring tools.
• Contribute to the production of dashboards and visuals related to project results.
• Systematically organize and archive documents related to monitoring and evaluation.

3. Learning and capacity building

• Foster a culture of learning through reflection workshops, end-of-activity reviews, and other spaces for shared analysis.
• Identify and document good practices and key lessons learned from project implementation, ensuring they are captured and documented for sharing outside of the team as appropriate
• Support field teams in building their capacity in analytical writing, data analysis, and indicator-based monitoring.
• Contribute to internal knowledge management initiatives (learning database, lessons learned, etc.).

4. Programme development support

• Participate in the development of proposals by providing results from previous projects, baseline data, or elements of analysis.
• Contribute to the design or revision of logical frameworks and monitoring and evaluation systems for new projects.

Qualifications

• Advanced university degree in social sciences, development, statistics, peacebuilding or related field.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in the humanitarian or development sector, in particular on reporting, monitoring and evaluation or accountability.
• Proven experience in writing reports for institutional donors.
• Proficiency in monitoring and evaluation tools and logical frameworks.
• Demonstrated interest in the protection of civilians, non-violence or peacebuilding.
