Job Summary: The successful candidate will be responsible for providing holistic patient care and contribute to collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders in line with company & hospital strategic objectives.  

Comprehensive perinatal care to antenatal and postnatal patients and babies, and the management of patients in labour.

Strict adherence to Mother and Baby Friendly Hospital Initiative Policies and Procedures as to support and promote breastfeeding

Effective cost management for staff and stock by:

• Flexibility in working hours based on activity and acuity in the unit.
• Optimizing stock management by ensuring stock is charged accurately and timeously and expiry dates are monitored and communicated.

Providing quality patient care by:

• Ensuring patient documentation is medico-legally defensible and comprehensive.
• Providing accurate, appropriate and adequate health education to patients and family members during hospitalization and in preparation for discharge
• Ensuring gentle principles are employed in managing the patients' experience in the maternity Unit.
• Monitoring and implementing preventative measures to minimize risk

Conducting effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders

• Identifying private midwives' / doctors' preferences and stakeholder's needs and the implementation thereof in the working environment.
