JOB PURPOSE:
Responsible for providing technical support to the Operations Director to ensure that the projects will deliver the required benefits and are fit for purposes. The role is responsible for overseeing the planning, execution, and management of projects within the organization.

Stakeholder management
- Coordinating with Operations Director, architects, engineers, contractors, subcontractors, suppliers, and other team members to ensure that projects are completed on time and within budget.
- Work with the Operations Director to ensure the appropriate contract is in place for any
3rd party contractors.
- Ensure that all identified contractors are suitably pre-qualified/ assured for the delivery of the project.
- Report on project technical scope performance against the baseline plan and stated benefits of the project.
- Ensure that all project personnel receive an appropriate orientation to the organization and the project.
Project risk management
- Facilitate the generation of the technical project risk register (including 3rd part risk registers) and its ongoing management.
- Ensure the risk register is agreed and regularly reviewed with the Operations Director.
Project schedule and resource management
- Estimate the time and materials required to complete projects within specified budgets.
- Develop project schedule plans based on client needs and specifications, using software such as Microsoft Project
- Preparing work estimates and contracts based on organizational needs and requirements.
- Overseeing the design process, including selecting material suppliers and contractors, hiring architects or engineers when needed, and managing construction schedules.
- Manage project staff and/or volunteers according to the established policies and practices of the organization.
- Contract qualified consultants to work on the project as appropriately.
- Monitor the progress of the project and adjust as necessary to ensure the successful completion of the project.
Project cost management
- Scheduling and overseeing the work of contractors to ensure that projects are completed on time and within budget.
- Manage all project funds according to established accounting policies and procedures.
- Ensure that all financial records for the project are up to date.
Project quality management
- Ensure all projects are technically fit for purpose and meet the statutory requirements.
- Ensure that the technical team and any 3rd party technical contractors adhere to the overall project quality plan provided throughout the project lifecycle.
- Ensure Kaizen designated initiatives are implemented leading to continual improvement.
- Development and continuous improvement of engineering systems based on good engineering practice which meets the Business needs.
- Ensure adherence to use of SAP PM, Periodic audit on the system with IT.
- Determine the objectives and measures upon which the project will be evaluated at its completion.
Project team
- Act as a mentor to other engineers and assist with their continuous improvement.
- Assist the project team with developing designs and drawings.
- Work in multi-disciplinary teams to ensure projects are effectively and technically delivered to meet timeline and budget.
- Any other duties commensurate with the role.

- Capex Spend vs Budget – 10% overspend limit on budget.
- TAT – Project(s)/Implementation rate.
- Quality - 100% successful handover to owner and meeting project criteria.
- Risk – Zero safety incidences on ongoing projects.
