Job Description
The objectives are to manage and implement projects based on specific guidelines regarding content, schedule, and budget. The project is carried out in accordance with Welthungerhilfe standards and the donor's guidelines/provisions.
The project manager is responsible for the operational implementation of the project(s) and the appropriate use of funds. He/she is responsible for coordination, planning and implementation, as well as the proper and documented preparation of reports to the Welthungerhilfe national office in Bujumbura.

2. Tasks and areas of expertise
2.1. Tasks within the scope of competence
Project development and management
- Carry out the project(s) according to the rules and standards of the co-financing donors and in compliance with WHH-Welthungerhilfe standards for project implementation
- Ensures that relevant support for projects is in place (monitoring, logistics, financial management, etc.)
- Is responsible for modifications and the continuation of the project planning and budget.
- Develops a needs-based and impact-oriented plan within the context of ongoing project(s) (in line with WHH's regional strategy).
- Helps identify co-financing opportunities and ensures the timely development of successful project proposals in collaboration with the program manager, and in compliance with relevant donor regulations and strategies.
- Establishes good working relationships with donors and other national stakeholders for emergency, rehabilitation and development programs, in coordination with the country office
- Reports to the Program Manager and the Country Director on project progress and all risks associated with project work.
- Contributes to the preparation and implementation of a disaster and potential crisis preparedness plan based on the specific national situation
Direction
- Manages staff according to WHH management principles, personnel policies and WHH strategy

- Is responsible for the administrative management of the project office (where delegated).
- Ensures the implementation of WHH policies and their adaptation to local conditions
- Is responsible for the implementation and adherence to the project security management system in accordance with the overall security policy / Welthungerhilfe guidelines
Representation, collaboration and networking
- Represents WHH at the national level with relevant national and international stakeholders and partners, as delegated by the Country Director
- Extends WHH's network to relevant stakeholders in civil society, government and academia, within the framework of projects under its responsibility.
- Contributes to WHH's local marketing, public relations, and image management.
- Accompanies donors and journalists on visits to WHH-Welthungerhilfe headquarters / or designates a suitable representative as appropriate
2.1. Tasks not within the scope of competence.
- Contributes to national development and strategies, actively participates in strategic discussions, and stays informed about general organizational issues in the country.
- Actively participates in the national management forum and in strategic development and planning

2.3 Job-specific activities and functions
- Manages the budget in the WHH-Welthungerhilfe accounting system
- Ensures the archiving of all project documentation in the internal system of WHH-Welthungerhilfe;
- Ensures the monitoring of indicators and impact of projects for which WHH-Welthungerhilfe is responsible;
- Is responsible for developing and monitoring the purchasing plan as well as the periodic supply plan;
- Prepares and validates the terms of reference for activities and the contracts of consultants and service providers for the projects in charge;
- Writes the various project reports (WHH, consortium, and donor);
- Actively participates in meetings organized by government services, the landlord, or partners.
- Ensures the quality of implementation of project activities;
- Organizes and produces capitalization and learning from projects
- Ensure the overall management of the office, including administrative organization, information tracking, management of office-based staff, and coordination of activities.

- Is responsible for correctly and properly completing the end-of-month accounts
- Review and sign the end-of-month accounts
- Is responsible for preparing (unless there is a finance officer in the project) or reviewing the inventory accounting
- Is responsible for project purchases, according to the approved purchasing budget
- When purchases are made locally, the project manager is responsible for ensuring compliance with internal or external procurement guidelines.
- Is responsible for inventory control
- Responsible for carrying out regular checks of the petty cash
- Is responsible for drafting the financial report (final report)
- Prepares and/or reviews distribution reports
- Prepare progress reports in accordance with Welthungerhilfe standards or donor regulations
- Is responsible for finalizing and closing the project in an orderly manner
