Job Description

The Project Manager will oversee the implementation of the Institute's activities within the PVPSSA project, which aims to promote the Vancouver Principles and strengthen the capacity of the national security sector to prevent the recruitment and use of child soldiers in sub-Saharan Africa. This position involves the tactical and operational management of the project, including planning, execution, and reporting, with a focus on training, capacity building, financial management, and advocacy in the country concerned.

Key Deliverables

Materials Management • Receive, control, and administer, as directed by project authorities, the materials required for project deployment. • Report and request any additional or abnormal situations concerning the usability or quality of materials, as well as their suitability for use in the host country. Professional Qualifications

Industry Qualification
Product & Project Management Master’s degree in Civil Engineering (required); alternatively, a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering with demonstrated experience in Construction Management. Minimum of 20 years of experience in civil engineering or construction project management. Proven track record of managing at least 12 projects related to wastewater treatment and sewer networks.

Essential Qualities

  • A relevant tertiary qualification would be beneficial.
  • 3 - 5 years of project management experience.
  • Knowledge and experience in the finance industry.
  • Experience working with software projects.
  • Positive attitude, enthusiasm, and strong aptitude for success.
