Job Description

Tearfund Burundi is seeking a skilled, experienced, and motivated individual to join the team as a Programme Funding Officer.

This role plays an important part in supporting the country team to secure funding and strengthen partnerships. You will contribute to developing high-quality proposals, engaging with donors, and supporting partners to effectively manage funding.

Key Deliverables

  • Support the development of high-quality proposals and concept notes
  • Engage with institutional donors and other funding sources
  • Work closely with partners, with a strong focus on:
    • Proposal development
    • Donor engagement
    • Capacity strengthening
  • Ensure compliance with donor and Tearfund requirements
  • Contribute to donor reporting and accountability
  • Support partners to:
    • Access funding opportunities
    • Manage grants effectively
    • Successfully close projects

Professional Qualifications

Industry Qualification
International Relations, Development, Humanitarian Management Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in: Development Studies Or a related field Experience: At least 5 years of experience in a local and/or international NGO Experience in: Grant management Proposal development (narratives and budgets) Donor reporting Technical Skills: Experience in: Strategic planning Project implementation Logframe development Project Cycle Management Familiarity with donor systems such as: DFID USAID EU Multilateral donors Experience working with non-institutional donors (e.g., high net worth individuals) is an asset
