Job Description

The Procurement Officer is responsible for executing procurement activities in line with organizational policies and procedures. The role involves sourcing suppliers, preparing purchase orders, coordinating deliveries, and maintaining accurate procurement records to ensure timely and cost-effective acquisition of goods and services.

Key Deliverables

  • Receive and process purchase requisitions from departments.
  • Prepare and issue purchase orders in accordance with approved procedures.
  • Source and evaluate suppliers based on price, quality, and delivery capabilities.
  • Maintain communication with suppliers to ensure timely delivery and resolve issues.
  • Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and supplier information.
  • Ensure proper filing and documentation of procurement transactions.
  • Ensure procurement activities comply with internal policies and external regulations.
  • Assist in implementing procurement controls and audit requirements.
  • Prepare periodic procurement reports for management.
  • Track and report on procurement performance and cost savings.
  • Assist in market research and price comparisons.
  • Participate in supplier evaluations and contract reviews.
  • Implement “Performance Management the Alliad Way” by setting KPI’s for direct reports (if assigned any), conduct regular reviews, identify training requirements and provide a coaching, mentoring and supportive role.
  • Ensures adherence to quality standards and applicable regulatory requirements in Food Safety, Occupational Health & Safety, and Environment.

Professional Qualifications

Procurement, Logistics , Supply Chain Management MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS / EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE / TRAINING / KNOWLEDGE Education & Professional Certifications Bachelor’s degree in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field. Professional certifications such as CIPS Level 3 or equivalent are an advantage. Work Experience 1–3 years of experience in procurement or supply chain roles. Familiarity with vendor management, RFQ processes, and ERP systems Technical Skills & Knowledge Ability to create and process purchase orders accurately Knowledge of procurement procedures and relevant regulations. Strong organizational and communication skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and procurement software (e.g., ERP systems). Skilled in vendor communication and negotiation
