 Job Title: Payroll Support Specialist

Location: Jabi, Abuja

The Role

  • As a Payroll Support Specialist, you will support the end-to-end payroll function for our clients, ensuring employees are paid accurately and on time, and that all records and processes meet compliance standards.

Key Deliverables

  • Process payroll accurately and on schedule, including earnings, deductions, taxes, and benefits
  • Review timesheets, attendance records, and approvals for completeness and accuracy
  • Reconcile payroll data with general ledger accounts and resolve discrepancies
  • Prepare and file payroll-related statutory and tax reports
  • Respond to payroll queries from employees and client contacts professionally and promptly
  • Maintain confidential employee and payroll records in line with data protection standards
  • Support audits and month-end and year-end close activities
  • Identify process gaps and recommend improvements to increase accuracy and efficiency

Essential Qualities

Essential Qualities
  • Strong, demonstrable knowledge of accounting procedures and processes
  • Proven experience in payroll processing or a closely related accounting function
  • Professional certification is strongly encouraged: ICAN or any other recognised accounting or finance certification (e.g., ACCA, ANAN, CPA)
  • Excellent attention to detail and a high standard of accuracy
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and payroll or accounting software
  • Strong communication, organisation, and time-management skills
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with integrity and discretion
  • Willingness to work onsite full-time in Jabi, Abuja

Nice to Have:

  • Experience supporting North American processes (US/Canada payroll, tax, and compliance)
  • Familiarity with working to client SLAs in an outsourcing environment.
