Job Description

Under the supervision of the Regional CSP Coordinator, the post holder will be responsible for supporting strategic planning, stakeholder mobilization, technical support, monitoring and evaluation, awareness-raising and resource mobilization to achieve sustainable control and/or elimination of cholera.

Key Deliverables

National Plan for the Elimination of Cholera 2023-2027 (Burundi)

  • Strengthen the capacities of local teams involved in the development, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of the PMSEC.
  • Working with peers to develop PAO, budgets and investment files.
  • Maintain regular relations with authorities, NGOs and communities to ensure priority is given to cholera.
  • Facilitate multi-sectoral collaboration (health, WASH, development) in connection with the CNAEHA.
  • Ensure the integration of cholera priorities into national policies and funding.
  • Implement regular monitoring and evaluation of PMSEC activities at all levels.

Technical support

  • Provide technical support on cholera prevention, control and response according to GTFCC guidelines.
  • Organize and lead training sessions and workshops to improve technical skills.
  • Support the dissemination and application of national surveillance and care protocols.
  • Collect, analyze and communicate performance data and areas for improvement.

Coordination

  • Working in collaboration with authorities, agencies and NGOs under the direction of the CSP Regional Manager to ensure a unified approach to the PMSEC at the subnational level.
  • Align national activities with the regional priorities and objectives of the CSP.
  • Participate in regional coordination meetings and share relevant information, respect for diversity, integrity, professionalism, responsibility.

Advocacy and resource mobilization

  • Support advocacy with the CSP Regional Manager to strengthen political commitment to the fight against cholera.
  • Raising awareness among decision-makers, donors and the public about the challenges of cholera prevention and control.
  • Contribute to investment files and resource mobilization strategies to finance the PMSEC/NCP.
  • Monitor and organize subnational project proposals related to the implementation of the PMSEC.
  • Collaborating with donors, the private sector and other partners to support cholera control efforts.

Follow up

  • Ensure the development and updating of information systems to monitor the progress of the PMSEC, as well as the collection, analysis and dissemination of reliable data.
  • Produce regular reports highlighting achievements, challenges and recommendations.
  • Contribute to internal and external reporting in accordance with IFRC and donor requirements, and participate in periodic program evaluations.
  • Integrate lessons learned and best practices to improve the impact of the PMSEC.
  • Working actively towards achieving the objectives of the Federation Secretariat
  • Respect and work in accordance with the principles and rules of conduct of the Red Cross and Red Crescent.
  • To perform all other work-related tasks and responsibilities that may be assigned by his or her line manager.

Professional Qualifications

Industry Qualification
Public Health, Health communications Relevant degree or postgraduate studies in public health, sociology, international health, health promotion or a related field (required). Relevant degree or higher education in the field of public health or management
