Job Description

The consultant will develop a communication plan on birth registration adapted to the context and the information needs of communities regarding birth registration procedures in Burundi and the importance of the birth certificate for all children, including those from marginalized communities, children with disabilities, returned children, internally displaced persons, and refugees.

Professional Qualifications

Industry Qualification
Customer Service & Support Education: • Master's degree (BAC+5 or equivalent) in behavioral science, communication for development, social marketing, social sciences or related field. • Or a Bachelor's degree with at least 7 years of experience in a relevant field. Work Experience: • Minimum 5 years of experience in designing and implementing community engagement and communication strategies for development projects, ideally in the child protection or human rights sector.

Skills:

• Ability to work independently, under pressure, with the constraint of producing quality results.

• Have a good knowledge of the Burundian socio-cultural context and community dynamics and a good understanding of social norms and local practices.

Language Requirements:

• Have a perfect command of spoken and written French and Kirundi.

Desirables:

  • Having proven experience in the production of materials for birth registration would be a real asset.
  • Having prior experience collaborating with UNICEF would be an asset
