The Monitoring, Evaluation & Learning Officer supports the day-to-day implementation of Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning activities at project and programme level with a focus on accurate data collection, verification, documentation, and reporting support. The MEL Support Officer ensures reliable evidence of results, contributes to learning processes, and supports the Foundation’s commitment to accountability and impact.

Key Deliverables

Data Collection & Verification

  • Support the design, refinement, and implementation of robust MEL systems, tools, and processes.
  • Collect quantitative and qualitative data in line with approved MEL plans.
  • Perform regular data quality assessments and recommend improvements.
  • Administer surveys, tools, interviews, and other data collection instruments.
  • Verify source data to ensure accuracy, completeness, and consistency.
  • Maintain organised records of data sources, tools, and supporting documentation.

MEL Tools & Systems Support

  • Support implementation of project-level MEL plans and indicators.
  • Enter and update data in MEL databases and reporting systems.
  • Support routine monitoring of outputs, outcomes, and activities.
  • Flag data quality issues and implementation risks to the MEL Specialist.

Reporting Support

  • Compile routine monitoring reports and data summaries.
  • Ensure timely submission of monitoring data.
  • Analyse and generate detailed reports and dashboards.
  • Ensure data consistency and comparability across different reporting periods and programmes.

Learning & Documentation

  • Support documentation of lessons learned, challenges, and successes.
  • Promote learning by sharing observations and feedback from implementation.

Coordination & Field Support

  • Work closely with Project Teams, Coordinators, and Implementing Partners.
  • Support field visits and verification exercises.

Professional Qualifications

Industry Qualification
Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, and Learning National diploma/degree/NQF level 7 Valid Driver’s License Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and other relevant software.
