Job Description

Reporting to the Head of School or a designated senior leader, the Marketing & Communications Officer will be responsible for shaping and delivering the school’s brand presence across all channels — digital, print, social, and community. This is a creative, strategic, and highly collaborative role that sits at the heart of school life, working closely with leadership, teachers, and families to communicate what makes Dove International Montessori School exceptional.

Key Deliverables

  • Develop and implement a cohesive annual marketing and communications plan aligned to the school’s strategic goals and enrolment targets
  • Manage and grow the school’s social media presence across platforms (Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, and others), producing engaging, on-brand content
  • Maintain and update the school website, ensuring content is current, accurate, and optimised for search
  • Produce high-quality marketing materials including prospectuses, brochures, newsletters, event programmes, and digital assets
  • Lead the school’s enrolment and admissions marketing efforts, including open days, school tours, and prospective family communications
  • Write compelling copy for a range of audiences — prospective families, current community members, alumni, and the broader public
  • Manage internal communications, including parent newsletters, school announcements, and staff bulletins
  • Coordinate photography and videography for school events, ensuring a strong visual archive of school life
  • Build and maintain relationships with local and international media, managing press releases and media enquiries
  • Plan and support school events, open days, graduation ceremonies, and community initiatives from a communications perspective
  • Track and report on marketing performance using analytics tools, making data-informed recommendations for improvement
  • Manage the marketing budget, supplier relationships, and external agency partnerships

Professional Qualifications

Industry Qualification
Business Development, Sales, Marketing and Retail Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or a closely related field Demonstrated experience in a marketing, communications, or PR role (school or education sector experience an advantage) Strong copywriting skills in English, with the ability to adapt tone and style for different audiences and channels Proficiency in social media management and content creation across major platforms Experience with website content management systems Working knowledge of graphic design tools (e.g. Canva, Adobe Creative Suite) for producing digital and print materials Excellent project management and organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple campaigns and deadlines simultaneously A collaborative, proactive approach and the confidence to work with senior leadership and diverse stakeholder groups PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Experience working in a school, university, or education-sector communications role Familiarity with IB schools and the international school market Proficiency in photography, videography, or video editing (e.g. Adobe Premiere, Final Cut Pro, or similar) Experience with email marketing platforms (e.g. Mailchimp, Brevo) and CRM or admissions systems Knowledge of SEO principles and digital advertising (Google Ads, Meta Ads) Multilingual ability — French and Kinyarwanda is an added advantage
