Maintenance Assistant - Durban Mill

Assist the Maintenance Artisans with planned maintenance, preventive maintenance and breakdowns. Assistant will be expected to perform routine inspections, minor repairs, general cleaning, inventory management and administrative support to the Maintenance Planner and Purchasing Clerk.

Maintenance:

• Check tools are in good working order and safe to use (at start and finish of shift)
• Able to work independently or in teams
• Grease bearings, clean panels and machines
• Complete assigned maintenance work
• Attend call-outs with Artisan when necessary
• Must be able to provide feedback to Planner or Manager with regards to maintenance of site.

Housekeeping:

• Clean area/ equipment before handing over
• Ensure that the workshop is clean

Safety:

• Correct use of safety gear (PPE)
• Aware and adhere to safety and food safety standards
• Ensure the site is safe for others to work
