Job Description

 In this context, the general responsibilities of the holder are:

  • Works in accordance with NRC policies, tools, manuals and guidelines.
  • Assists with the implementation of the logistics function in accordance with the action plan
  • Prepares progress reports on the logistics activities for which he/she is responsible, as requested by the supervisor.
  • Ensures the correct archiving (digital and electronic) of documents.
  • Encourages and is proactive in proposing improvements to the logistics function.
  • Implements country-approved logistics strategies.

Key Deliverables

The specific responsibilities are:

  • Manages purchases according to established rules and procedures
  • Prepares the reports for which he is responsible: monitoring purchases; updating the price list, supplier register, monitoring contracts, minutes of opening of offers, monitoring fleet and internet expenses.
  • Archiving: Responsible for the physical and electronic archiving of logistics documents in accordance with the filing tree and NRC standards.
  • Supports the Procurement Coordinator in market analysis
  • Identifies, anticipates and manages supplier risks; Participates in supplier evaluation and updates the supplier database.
  • Performs all other tasks assigned by his/her hierarchical superior. 

Essential Qualities

Essential Qualities
  • Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in logistics or a related field, and/or a minimum of 4 years' experience in similar positions if the educational level is lower.
  • Professional experience as an Officer or Manager in a support role within a humanitarian context.
  • Procurement skills
  • Computer skills in Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Context-specific skills, knowledge and experience:
  • Excellent writing and communication skills in French, English an asset.
  • Proven results in relation to the responsibilities of the position.
  • Good knowledge of the social, economic and legal context of North Kivu and Eastern DRC.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively in a multicultural environment.
  • To be of Congolese nationality and to have knowledge of the context of Eastern DRC.
