Key Deliverables

Reporting to the Logistics and Purchasing Contractualization Expert, the small purchase manager handles the following tasks:

  • You will assist in setting up purchasing procedures and are responsible for their proper implementation;
  • Collaborating with the financial manager, you manage purchases below the €30,000 threshold from A to Z;
  • Explore the market, create and manage the database of quality suppliers and establish contacts with potential suppliers;
  • Identify, anticipate and manage supplier-related risks;
  • Advise and support management in the implementation of the procurement policy and the setting of objectives for optimizing costs, quality and delivery times;
  • Define control points to optimize internal control of the purchasing chain and contribute to budgetary control of expenditures;
  • Arrange the transport and shipping or purchased services.

Essential Qualities

Essential Qualities
  • Nationality: Democratic Republic of Congo,
  • Bachelor's degree (Bac +3) in logistics management, general administration, accounting or any other relevant qualification for the position.
  • Professional experience of at least 3 years in the field of logistics or a similar role,
  • Knowledge of the context of the North and South Kivu provinces is highly valued.
  • Experience in purchasing procedures and inventory management;
  • Proven knowledge of transit/customs declarations and quality and safety standards;
  • Able to read and understand the technical specifications of materials;
  • Good knowledge of quality and safety standards;
  • Strong listening and communication skills, as well as good interpersonal skills.
  • Planning and organizational skills, and a proactive attitude.
  • Able to work in a team, with an innovative mindset and the ability to work independently,
  • Mastery of Microsoft office (Word, Excel, Outlook),
  • Very good level of spoken and written French and knowledge of English;
  • Work experience in an international organization,
  • Knowledge of agricultural development projects,
  • Knowledge of Swahili and Kinande
