Our client is an international company specializing in the development of renewable energy projects in Africa, recognized for its innovative and sustainable solutions in the solar sector.

As part of the deployment of a 200 MWp solar project, associated with a 500 MWh storage system intended to power a mining operation, it is looking for an HSE Manager (M/F) based in Kolwezi who will be in charge of the implementation, monitoring and control of the Health, Safety and Environment policy over the entire project.

Key Deliverables

  • Under the supervision of the Project Manager, your main tasks will be:
  • Develop, deploy and supervise the project's HSE Management Plan.
  • Identify risks related to construction and operation and define prevention action plans. * Ensure regulatory compliance with local and international standards (ISO 14001, ISO 45001).
  • Manage internal and external audits as well as inspections by authorities.
  • Implement and monitor HSE procedures: waste management, electrical safety, fire prevention. * Supervise site safety during the EPC (Engineering, Procurement & Construction) phase.
  • Establish a work permit (PTW) system and coordinate contingency plans.
  • Train staff and subcontractors in safety culture and organize awareness campaigns.
  • Produce HSE reports for management, partners and authorities.

Essential Qualities

Essential Qualities
  • You have a minimum of 8 to 10 years of proven experience in HSE on large-scale industrial projects (energy, oil & gas, mining).
  • You are proficient in international HSE standards and HSE legislation in the DRC.
  • You have a solid background in managing multicultural teams and in security management in demanding environments.
  • You speak fluent French and English (Swahili is an asset).
  • Ideally, you hold a NEBOSH, IOSH or equivalent certification.
  • You are self-reliant and capable of working on a remote site.
