Job Description

The HR Project Specialist will be responsible for supervising all activities of the department's employees and will implement the strategy, as directed by the Human Resources Department Head. He/she will provide timely services and help establish a relationship of trust with all staff and work in partnership with leaders both in our regional offices and in the field. He will ensure compliance with One Acre Fund's policies and culture.

Key Deliverables

Ensure the management of employee training for human resources

  • Identify training needs on good human resources practices for all employees.
  • Ensure the preparation, planning and execution of training with little support from the manager.
  • Organize training from the human resources department to all staff, as needed.
  • Collaborate with other departments to manage the orientation program for new recruits (Onboarding).

Ensure communication with employees

  • Ensure the execution of special projects such as communication with staff, training and group discussions with staff etc.
  • Manage all One Acre Fund employee information
  • Manage processes for anonymous employee complaints, inquiries and issues
  • Create strategies to collect and analyze employee complaints and make long-term management recommendations.
  • Plan and coordinate the popularization of human resources policies for the organization
  • Ensure the updating and continuous improvement of the communication system between employees and Human Resources
  • Participate in periodic meetings with organizational leaders on behalf of human resources.
  • Ensure department representation in meetings with the global payroll coordination team
  • Establish and manage an internal communications strategy for the national team, allowing the department to better understand staff needs, and ensure staff understand policies and program updates.

 SUPPORT FOR SPECIAL PROJECTS

  • Identify, plan and execute innovative projects.
    • Example of projects:
      • Design and execute change management initiatives.
      • Continually raising the bar and creating an exceptional “customer experience” for all staff.
      • Develop a prospecting and posting strategy so that vacant positions are quickly filled with top talent.
      • Identify the levers that make it possible to improve staff satisfaction and implement projects to build a happy team.
    • Support human resources administrative tasks at the request of the supervisor
    • Help implement special human resources projects at the global level

Team management

  • Supervise 2 people from the human resources team and provide them with the necessary support for daily work as well as invest in their professional development
  • Support the senior coordinator in the management of disciplinary measures and ensure full compliance with our regulations and our labor code

Essential Qualities

Essential Qualities
  • Experience in leading large-scale training and focus groups
  • Strong skills in planning and executing a wide variety of projects in different teams.
  • Language: Kirundi and French required, knowledge of English is a great asset
  • In-depth computer skills (e-mail, Internet, Microsoft Word, Excel and Powerpoint)
  • Be of Burundian nationality
