Job Description

The HR Generalist will be responsible for managing day-to-day HR operations, including external relationship with government agencies, recruitment, employee relations, performance management, training, compliance and industrial relations.

Salary: KES: 60,000

The HR Generalist will be responsible for managing day-to-day HR operations, including external relationship with government agencies, recruitment, employee relations, performance management, training, compliance and industrial relations. The role holder will ensure that the organization operates with a productive and engaged workforce while maintaining compliance with labour laws and company policies.

Key Deliverables

Labour & Employee Relations

• Handle grievances, disputes, and disciplinary actions in line with labor laws.

• Maintain relations with regulatory bodies (County Council, KEBS, etc.).

• Implement employee engagement initiatives.


Recruitment & Talent Acquisition

• Manage full-cycle recruitment and onboarding.

• Conduct workforce planning and forecasting.


Performance Management

• Support appraisals and Performance Improvement Plans (PIPs).

• Analyze productivity and recommend HR interventions.


Training & Development

• Identify training needs and coordinate programs.

• Ensure regular health & safety training.


Compliance & HR Policies

• Ensure compliance with labor laws, health & safety regulations, and HR policies.

• Maintain accurate employee records and support labor audits.


Compensation & Benefits

• Assist with payroll, attendance, overtime, and leave administration.

• Address employee payroll/benefits concerns.


Workplace Health & Safety

• Support compliance with safety standards and accident prevention.

• Participate in incident investigations and corrective actions.


Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

• Timely grievance resolution, recruitment efficiency, appraisal completion, training impact, compliance audits, and reduction of safety incidents.

Essential Qualities

Essential Qualities

• Education: Diploma or Bachelors degree in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, Business Administration, or related field.

• Experience: Minimum 5 years of HR experience in a busy manufacturing environment is a MUST

• Strong understanding of labor laws, and employee relations

• Experience handling grievances, disciplinary cases, and workforce compliance, perfomance evaluation

• Strong Knowledge of Production Management

• Knowledge of training programs, and workplace safety regulations.

• Proficiency in HRIS, Microsoft Office, and employee management systems
