Job Description

Fahari Link, powered by Tatu City, aims to bridge the digital divide in the region by providing reliable and affordable world-class high-speed internet. Our mission is to empower local businesses, schools, and residents with world-class, seamless connectivity.

Over the next five years, Fahari Link will build over 300 km of fibre optic network covering five counties and targeting 30,000 customers, which is just 2% of the documented total fixed data market share of Kenya as of March 2024.

Fahari Link will have Fahari Link Business products that will offer dedicated internet connectivity to businesses coupled with other Information & Communication Technology (ICT) services like email, cyber-security, ICT Consultancy, cloud services, Multiprotocol Label Switching Virtual Private Network (MPLS VPN), Software Defined Wide Area Network (SDWAN).

 The Head of Sales and Marketing will lead the development and execution of strategic marketing initiatives and robust sales plans aimed at driving growth, profitability, and customer retention. This role is pivotal to enhancing brand visibility, expanding market share, and building lasting relationships with customers in the internet service provider (ISP) space.

Key Deliverables

  • Develop and implement strategic marketing and sales plans aligned with business goals.
  • Drive brand positioning and visibility through integrated promotional campaigns and digital outreach.
  • Set and monitor departmental goals and sales performance metrics, using data insights to guide decision-making.
  • Drive corporate sales growth while leading and supporting the sales team, with a clear focus on achieving revenue targets and ensuring a strong return on investment (ROI).
  • Lead outbound sales efforts including presentations, product demos, proposals, and contract negotiations.
  • Strategize in MDU sales activities and retention.
  • Foster and expand relationships with key accounts and strategic partners to secure long-term business.
  • Oversee the development of compelling advertising and promotional materials to support sales targets.
  • Leverage CRM tools to manage pipelines, track leads, and optimize customer engagement processes.
  • Conduct market research to identify emerging trends, competitive positioning, and growth opportunities.
  • Coordinate cross-functional collaboration to ensure consistency across sales, marketing, technical and operational teams.
  • Provide market-driven insights to inform product innovation and pricing strategies.
  • Champion continuous improvement of marketing materials, customer touchpoints, and lead conversion tactics.

Essential Qualities

Essential Qualities
  • Minimum of 10 years' experience in senior sales and marketing roles, preferably in the ISP.
  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
  • Experience working in a fast-growing ISP environment is highly preferred.
  • Professional certifications in sales, marketing, or digital marketing are an added advantage.
  • Proven track record of driving commercial success through strategic leadership.
  • Advanced knowledge of CRM systems and sales analytics tools.
