Owens and Xley Consults is a recruitment firm based in Lagos that offers business advisory and consulting services to help Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs).

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Summary

  • The Facility Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing the efficient operation, maintenance, and security of the company's physical assets and facilities. 
  • This role involves coordinating various facility-related activities, and optimizing the functionality of the company's infrastructure

Key Deliverables

Maintenance Management:

  • Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules for equipment, systems, and facilities.
  • Coordinate repairs, renovations, and maintenance projects to ensure minimal disruption to daily operations.
  • Monitor the performance of contractors, vendors/service providers to ensure quality work and adherence to timelines.
  • Supervise and lead a team of maintenance staff, cleaners, security and other facility-related personnel.
  • Organize relocations and layout changes to accommodate changing business needs.

Health and Safety:

  • Maintain a safe and secure working environment by adhering to health and safety regulations.
  • Conduct regular inspections to identify potential hazards and address safety concerns promptly.

Utilities Management:

  • Oversee the management of utilities such as electricity, water, heating, and cooling systems to ensure optimal usage and cost-effectiveness.
  • Implement energy-saving initiatives and sustainable practices to minimize environmental impact.

Others:

  • Develop and implement emergency response plans and protocols to handle various crisis situations effectively.
  • Collaborate with vendors, contractors, and suppliers to negotiate contracts, monitor service quality, and manage service agreements.
  • Develop and manage the facility budget, including expenses related to maintenance, repairs, and upgrades.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Essential Qualities

  • nterested candidates should possess a BSc Degree with 4 - 10 years work experience. 

Competency and Skill Requirement

Technical Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of building systems, maintenance, and repair processes.
  • Familiarity with health and safety regulations and environmental guidelines.
  • Proficiency in using facility management software and tools.
  • Proficient with Microsoft office suit.

Soft Skills:

  • Organizational and coordination skills.
  • Result-oriented team player with exceptionalmotivation, interpersonal and negotiation skills.
