Job Description

The purpose of the Early Careers Development Coordinator role is to provide general support services to the Talent Solutions portfolio by aligning focus areas to programme goals, administering, scheduling, consolidating, and reporting. It also coordinates all activities including Graduate / Learnership programmes. The role works closely with various units in the People Team division to support the achievement of targets, roll-out plans and general administrative inputs/outputs as set out by the programme objectives.

Key Deliverables

Employee Centric Delivery

  • Lead and coordinate the implementation of the talent solutions programmes within the accountable Graduate / Learnership portfolios and other programmes as required
  • For all existing and new youth programmes, supporting and maintaining the project scope, business case and/or other requirements, including but not limited to:
  • Coordinating project tasks and resource requirements and developing project plans.
  • Manage feedback processes from learners and divisional teams and ensure process effectiveness
  • Providing reporting or insights related to Talent solution projects, establishing templates to support programme administration and consolidation
  • Prepare and analyse reporting relevant to portfolio / area of accountability, develop insights and ensure that trends are understood and /or addressed.
  • Seek and analyse feedback to implement proactive changes / enhancements and ensure execution in with procedures

  • Escalate, support and ensure the mitigation project risks and governance compliance
  • Providing support to the team and other project participants to deliver an enhanced early career development experience.
  • Conducting frequent check-ins with business stakeholders and programme participants to gather and capture programme feedback to create a continuous improvement feedback loop.
  • Oversee exit and transition management to ensure effective talent placement

People (Self, Team & Organisational)

  • Participating in and aligning with the talent solution team to deliver project and operational services to the business.
  • Participating in various team activities that foster an innovative, agile and employee centric culture where employees are supported, empowered and valued within the talent solution team.
  • Participating in various team activities that foster a wellness culture within the talent solution team to ensure that the team mentally, physically and emotionally feels supported.

Financial, Reporting & BI

  • Prepare and maintain inputs into budgeting and budget management ensuring delivery against milestones, deadlines, and budget.
  • Managing youth project costs whilst ensuring service delivery to the People team.
  • Supporting PAC project activities and timelines.
  • Driving the collection and use of people data and business intelligence to transform the delivery of services and youth projects specifically.

Governance & Compliance

  • Ensuring that the Early Career Development and related projects comply with relevant labour relations frameworks and legislation.
  • Interact with all stakeholders includes the divisional teams to ensure that learners are recruited, placed, developed, and managed in accordance with defined policies, procedures, and processes.
  • Ensuring compliance to organisational and legislative governance frameworks and standards including POPI Act.
  • Ensuring the required governance and alignment of projects within the Shoprite Group.
  • Managing the identification and mitigation of Early Career Development projects risks.

Future-Fit

  • Participating in the integration and effective flow of work with other service and solution areas.
  • Identifying opportunities for continuous improvement in Early Career Development project processes.
  • Acting as an ambassador for the Group in terms of youth programmes and the broader brand implications and brand (CSI) related agenda.
  • Identifying relevant Early Career Development projects technology requirements where required and making recommendations.

Essential Qualities

Essential Qualities

  • Degree in Human Resources, Business, Organisational Development, Project Management or equivalent - (beneficial).
  • Experience

  • +2 years in a team / project administration, support, coordination, or equivalent role, delivering within programme frameworks, policies, procedures, and guidelines.
  • Preferred
  • Experience within the FMCG, retail sector or similar.Knowledge and Skills
  • Knowledge of youth programmes and project administration, including templates and reporting of these initiatives within the retail sector - (preferred).
