Contract Duration: 6-month fixed-term contract, with possibility of renewal based on availability of funds
Target Hiring Salary: TZS 1,351,552 per month before taxes
Target Start Date: As soon as possible

In Tanzania, Right To Play is legally registered under the NGO Act of 2002 with certificate of registration number I-NGO/R1/00529. The organization reaches more than 76 pre-primary and primary schools in Dar es Salaam, Kigoma, and Mara.
The Driver will provide safe, efficient, and reliable transportation services for Right To Play staff, goods, visitors, supplies, equipment, and materials.
The position supports program delivery by ensuring compliance with:

Transportation and road safety
The Driver will be responsible for ensuring safe and punctual transportation services. Key duties include:
- Ensuring the safety of passengers during all trips.
- Maintaining punctuality in transport assignments.
- Practicing defensive driving at all times.
- Considering road conditions, weather conditions, and potential hazards before and during travel.
- Supporting staff and visitors with safe movement to assigned destinations.
Vehicle maintenance
The Driver will ensure that assigned vehicles remain functional, clean, and roadworthy. Responsibilities include:
- Performing daily pre-trip vehicle inspections.
- Performing daily post-trip vehicle inspections.
- Ensuring the vehicle is clean and properly maintained.
- Checking vehicle functionality before use.
- Reporting mechanical issues promptly.
- Reporting breakdowns, damages, or vehicle concerns to the supervisor.
Security and incident reporting
The Driver will support safe travel by following organizational security procedures. Duties include:
- Staying informed about security risks in travel areas.
- Following Right To Play security protocols.
- Reporting incidents, security concerns, or travel-related risks as required.
Documentation and logs
The Driver will maintain accurate vehicle and trip records. Responsibilities include:
- Maintaining accurate vehicle logbooks.
- Recording trip details, including destinations.
- Recording incidents where applicable.
- Tracking fuel consumption.
- Keeping maintenance and repair records.
- Supporting accountability and cost efficiency through proper documentation.
Logistical support
The Driver will also provide logistical support for program and office operations. Duties include:
- Loading supplies, equipment, and materials safely.
- Unloading supplies, equipment, and materials safely.
- Supporting field movements and operational logistics as required.
Scope, Impact, and Autonomy
The Driver will support all departments within Right To Play Tanzania as required.
The role involves autonomy in daily driving duties and vehicle upkeep. However, the Driver will refer to the Logistics Coordinator or supervisor for task prioritization and complex operational issues.
Leadership and Staff Management
This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities.
However, the Driver may:
- Provide informal guidance to passengers.
- Support the training of temporary drivers where needed.

To perform the role effectively, the Driver must maintain up-to-date knowledge of:
- Traffic laws
- Road conditions
- Weather conditions
- Vehicle maintenance status
- Security protocols
- Daily travel schedules
