To learn more, see our article:We are looking for young Congolese professionals who are looking to accelerate their careers while making an impact.In this role, you will have the opportunity to work on both strategic and operational projects, collaborate with several departments, and develop a deep understanding of how a program aimed at improving the quality of life of smallholder farmers in the DRC operates. You will be exposed to a variety of topics such as program implementation in the field, the establishment of internal systems, activity monitoring and evaluation, finance, HR, and organizational operations .After 6 months of rotation, if your experience proves positive, you may be offered a permanent position, with various prospects for advancement.


The role of the External Relations team is to foster close collaboration among One Acre Fund's partners, including the Government of Burundi, the private sector, and international institutions, to achieve our shared objectives in the agricultural sector. We also ensure compliance with all relevant laws in force in Burundi. The department comprises three sub-departments: a National and Local Relations Sub-department, a Legal Compliance Sub-department, and a Communications Sub-department

.These sub-departments work together to manage the organization's reputation in Burundi among various target stakeholders. You will report to the Compliance and Local Relations Project Manager. Your role will be to ensure the execution of the sub-department's activities, in close collaboration with the Communications Specialist. You will also support the Local and National Relations Department on strategic projects.

Key Deliverables

You will participate in two three-month rotations within different departments, depending on your academic profile and skills. You will work under the direct supervision of the department heads.Examples of responsibilities:Support for data collection and analysis

  • Contribute to the preparation and updating of data collection tools (forms, questionnaires, tracking sheets).
  • Participate in the collection and consolidation of qualitative and quantitative data from field teams.
  • Support data analysis to produce simple dashboards and highlight key trends.
  • Write summary notes or presentations based on the analysis results.

Operational monitoring and project management

  • Support the creation and updating of trackers and schedules to monitor the progress of activities.
  • Contribute to the preparation of work plans, under the supervision of a project manager.
  • Monitor deadlines and support coordination between stakeholders to ensure the proper execution of activities.
  • Identify the small operational challenges encountered and propose simple solutions or avenues for improvement.

Coordination and communication

  • Participate in the preparation of meetings, workshops or training sessions and ensure logistical follow-up.
  • Assist in the drafting of reports, summary documents or presentation materials.
  • Support communication between departments and, where appropriate, coordination with external service providers (follow-up on quotes, deliveries, or services).

Learning and professional development

  • Actively participate in the learning and training sessions offered during the rotation.
  • Document good practices, lessons learned and share observations with the teams involved.
  • Demonstrate a proactive, curious and learning-oriented attitude in carrying out assigned tasks.

Essential Qualities

Essential Qualities
  • A university degree (minimum bachelor's level) in a relevant field: Agriculture, Economics, Management, Development, Environmental Sciences, or a related field.
  • No more than 4 years of professional experience.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in French and knowledge of English.
  • Proficiency in basic office tools, particularly Excel or Google Sheets (creating simple tables, graphs, tracking data).
  • A good ability to plan your work, meet deadlines and manage multiple tasks at once.
  • A willingness to learn in a demanding environment.
  • A desire to work in a rural and multicultural context, or in Kinshasa with frequent fieldwork.
  • Some rotations will require you to be based in one of our field offices.
