Job Description

Working closely with the Chief Development Officer, you will help deliver immediate income priorities while also identifying and cultivating future funding opportunities aligned with our mission and our existing resource mobilisation strategy. This role is ideal for someone with 2–4 years of experience, strong writing and coordination skills, and the ability to manage deadlines with autonomy in a lean, fast-moving organisation, as part of a skilled, values-driven and collaborative team committed to impact.

Key Deliverables

Current scope

  • Review, prioritise and implement delivery of key actions from WFA’s resource mobilisation strategy
  • Write and coordinate persuasive concept papers, grant proposals and donor materials 
  • Manage active grants of up to $750k, including reporting deadlines, deliverables, and compliance
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with current and prospective funders
  • Maintain accurate funder records and timelines (e.g. Salesforce, Google Workspace)
  • Develop future funding opportunities aligned to strategic priorities (grants/major donors)
  • Liaise across the team to gather inputs for concept papers, applications and reports
  • Communicate WFA’s mission and successes effectively to funders

  • Shape WFA’s future resource mobilisation strategy 
  • Co-develop new programmes aligned with strategic priorities of WFA & Funders
  • Expand funder engagement and represent WFA externally
  • Lead on donor communications and storytelling campaigns

Essential Qualities

Essential Qualities
  • 2–4 years of relevant experience in grant development or donor engagement
  • Proven ability to develop winning proposals and written materials tailored to funders
  • Experience managing multiple deadlines and coordinating internal inputs
  • Ability to track and meet grant deliverables, reporting, and compliance requirements
  • Proven ability to secure grants and donor contributions of $30-150k
  • Strong interpersonal skills for supporting donor relationships and internal collaboration
  • Excellent written English and attention to detail
  • Confidence using systems such as Google Workspace; experience with Salesforce or other CRMs is an advantage
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently in a remote, international team setting
