This role is individually accountable for identifying data improvement projects through root cause problem solving and managing the analysis, design and implementation of projects through multi-functional teams.
This role drives data quality and adherence to data governance requirements on a day-to-day basis. It incorporates processes, policies, and guidelines for administering OML data in compliance with policy and/or regulatory obligations, ensuring high data quality. The incumbent is accountable for driving the improvement of data governance, management and security maturity levels within OML to support reliable decision making, appropriate data usage and protection thereof. This role incorporates the management of a data quality team, responsible for driving MFC’s Data Quality improvement and remediation measures.
This role also fulfils a support function to MFC’s Sales Distribution Channels, driving data literacy and data democracy at all levels of the channels’ hierarchy. Through on-going engagements, the data steward is responsible for the identification and support of current and future data needs of the Sales Channels.

Participates and contributes to the Data Stewards Forum and own data outcomes for MFC.

Ensures decisions made in the Data Governance Board (DGB) are implemented in MFC.

Confirms that MFC concerns regarding data are brought to the DGB and satisfactorily resolved.

Drives data maturity improvements in MFC.

Ensures data risks are logged in the data risk register and articulated/escalated to the relevant enterprise bodies.

Ensures data architecture within MFC supports data governance standards.

Provides thought leadership and develops infrastructure within field of expertise.

Translates business needs into functional data/system requirements and manages solution development lifecycle.
