Job Description
The The ETC Coordinator provides strategic leadership and overall oversight of all functions and operations across multiple Ebola Treatment Centers (ETCs). Reporting directly to the Medical Director, this senior strategic position ensures high-quality, safe, and effective patient care while maintaining strict compliance with national and international protocols. The ETC Coordinator works closely with Site Coordinators, the Clinical Care Manager, and technical leads (IPC, laboratory, WASH, nutrition, RCCE, logistics) to deliver integrated and accountable ETC services. A key aspect of the role involves regular presence inside the red zone to directly observe operations, mentor staff, verify protocol compliance, and ensure quality standards are consistently met on the ground. The ETC Coordinator is responsible for operational excellence, quality improvement, resource stewardship, performance monitoring, and effective coordination with health authorities and partners across all assigned ETCs.

- Provide strategic leadership and day-to-day oversight of all ETC operations across multiple treatment centers, ensuring efficient and standardized functioning of clinical care, infection prevention and control, laboratory services, logistics, and support services.
- Ensure high standards of clinical care and strict adherence to Ebola case management protocols, biosafety measures, and quality standards in close collaboration with the Clinical Care Manager.
- Regularly enter the red zone (following strict biosafety and PPE protocols) to directly supervise operations, observe clinical practices, mentor staff, verify protocol compliance, and identify areas for immediate improvement.
- Supervise and support Site Coordinators and key technical leads across all ETCs; promote clear roles, effective teamwork, accountability, and a positive working environment.
- Lead quality improvement initiatives and performance monitoring using key indicators (patient outcomes, IPC compliance, timeliness of care, bed management, etc.) and drive continuous improvement across all sites.
- Oversee resource management at ETC level (human resources, materials, finances), including high-level budget oversight, procurement planning, and stock management in coordination with the logistics team.
- Ensure seamless integration and coordination between clinical, IPC, laboratory, WASH, nutrition, RCCE, and data management teams for holistic patient care and effective outbreak response.
- Maintain close collaboration with the Medical Director on strategic decisions, surge capacity planning, and continuous strengthening of ETC operations across multiple sites.
- Represent the ETCs in coordination meetings with zonal and provincial health authorities, WHO, and other partners; maintain strong external relations and timely information sharing.
- Lead or support staff welfare, capacity building, training, and performance management of ETC personnel in collaboration with HR.
- Ensure robust reporting systems, timely submission of quality reports, and effective use of data for operational decision-making and donor reporting across all ETCs.
- Support preparedness activities, development of contingency plans, and rapid scale-up of ETC capacity when required.
- Uphold ethical standards, patient rights, staff safety and wellbeing, and organizational policies in all ETC activities.
- Perform other strategic duties as assigned by the Medical Director to support the overall Ebola response objectives.
