Job Description

The Compliance Officer is responsible for ensuring the company’s full compliance with both product certification requirements (NRCS Act, Letters of Authority, imports) and regulatory governance obligations (FIC Act, anti money laundering reporting, and other legal requirements).


The role involves managing product certifications, import approvals, and regulatory reporting while also acting as a compliance contact for financial crime prevention and risk reporting.

Key Deliverables

  • Maintain, and renew NRCS Letters of Authority (LOAs) for all equipment.
  • Manage import compliance processes, including customs clearance and NRCS inspections.
  • Liaise with regulators (NRCS, SABS, testing labs) to obtain certifications.
  • Maintain records of approvals, test reports, and declarations of conformity.
  • Conduct compliance risk assessments and escalate findings to senior management.
  • Prepare regular compliance reports for management on both product and regulatory risks.
  • Support internal and external audits related to compliance and certification.
  • Provide compliance guidance for tenders and contracts with large clients.
  • Ensure all compliance and safety files are up to date and meet regulatory record keeping requirements.
  • Oversee health and safety legal framework.
  • Develop health and safety policies and procedures.

Essential Qualities

Essential Qualities
  • Diploma/Degree in Compliance, Law, Supply Chain, Business, or related field.
  • 3–5 years’ experience in product compliance (LOAs, NRCS, imports and exports).
  • Experience with AML/FIC compliance and reporting highly advantageous.
  • Prior experience dealing with regulators (NRCS, FIC, SABS, customs) preferred.
  • Certification in compliance management or AML compliance an advantage.
