Key Deliverables

  • You will support the Country Director in the development of Action Against Hunger's (ACF) programs in the DRC.
  • You will be responsible for ensuring that continuous and high-quality technical support is delivered to the programs by the team of Technical Department Managers, that the necessary actions are implemented to ensure the technical quality of projects and strategic development, and for actively participating in the technical management of the mission, in close collaboration with the Country Director.
  • Your responsibilities will include:
  • Ensuring strategic vision and leadership;
  • Representing ACF and maintaining relationships with donors, authorities, UN agencies, and other NGOs regarding technical operational strategy and programs;
  • Providing program leadership;
  • Ensuring program performance and quality;
  • Managing the team: Direct management of 6 people: Department Managers for Nutrition-Health, SMSP, WASH, SAME, MEAL, and Grants;
  • and Acting as interim Country Director upon request.

Essential Qualities

Essential Qualities
  • You hold a postgraduate degree in one or more technical fields related to nutrition, food security, and/or WASH (Water, Sanitation and Hygiene), or other relevant studies supplemented by technical experience in these same fields.
  • You have at least three years of field experience with an international NGO, in humanitarian and/or development programs, and at least one year of experience in country coordination of humanitarian and/or development programs, including technical project supervision and the development of technical strategies.
  • You possess strong management and leadership skills, as well as excellent analytical abilities.
  • You are fluent in both spoken and written French and English.
