The primary objective of the Centre for Student Counselling and Development (CSCD) at Stellenbosch University (SU) is student wellness and development. The CSCD delivers an integrated, professional, client centred service that focuses on support and development. This position is based at reception.

- Receiving clients and visitors at the reception area of the CSCD.
- Effectively and professionally managing in-person, telephonic and email enquiries.
- Scheduling appointments (e.g. counselling, planning meetings, work session enrolments and social functions).
- Upholding confidentiality and appropriately managing confidential information.
- Organising small social events.
- Venue management (in other words, booking, asset management, and coordinating general maintenance).
- Providing secretarial support for meetings (e.g. preparing agendas and meeting materials, taking and compiling minutes).
- Keeping and storing accurate administrative and client records on MS Teams, SharePoint and the CSCD's client management system.
- Internal and external liaising with colleagues, clients and other stakeholders.
- Managing and coordinating effective communication channels to staff, students and other stakeholders (electronic and verbal).
- Basic financial administration, including requesting quotes, placing orders and submitting invoices.
- Managing stationery, cleaning material and other stock purchasing.
- Providing general assistance with ad hoc tasks.
- Responsible for the CSCD's social media, digital marketing, and the website.

Computer skills in the MS Office suite (especially Excel, Word and Teams). Outstanding interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a team environment. Effective planning, organising and prioritising skills. The ability to work under pressure and adhere to deadlines without compromising accuracy. The ability to respect and manage confidentiality. The ability to work independently and apply own initiative. Written and verbal proficiency in English.
