The Accountant will manage the daily financial operations of an Industrial bakery, ensuring accurate financial record-keeping, compliance with accounting standards, and providing critical financial analysis related to production costs, inventory, and sales performance within the FMCG context.

Financial Reporting: Prepare and review accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management accounts in line with IFRS/local GAAP and company standards.
Inventory & Cost Control: Manage and perform accurate stock control for raw materials and finished goods, including coordinating periodic full-cycle stocktakes, reconciling physical stock with the ERP system, and investigating stock variances (shrinkage).
Costing & Analysis: Review standard costing versus actual costings for all products and prepare weekly production packs with variance analysis for management purposes.
General Ledger: Manage and maintain accurate financial records and ledgers, process accounts payable/receivable, and ensure timely bank reconciliations.
Compliance: Assist in preparing budgets, financial forecasts, and liaise with external auditors and regulatory bodies for tax filings (e.g., VAT, WHT, CIT).
Operational Support: Work closely with the Operations, Purchasing, and Sales teams to gather financial information, provide commercial insights, and assist in strategic decision-making (e.g., advising on pricing/promotions).- not very necessary but you can retain it.
Manage Payroll: Manage employee payroll by accurately calculating wages, processing payments on time, handling statutory deductions, and maintaining up-to-date payroll records in compliance with relevant regulations.
Record Daily Sales, Expenses, and Financial Transactions: Accurately capture and reconcile all daily sales, record business expenses, and maintain up-to-date financial records in the accounting system to ensure completeness and accuracy of financial data.
Invoicing and Receivables: Prepare and issue invoices to customers, track outstanding payments, and follow up on receivables to ensure timely collections.

| Finance, Accounting And Assurance Services | Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field. Minimum of four (4) years of relevant professional experience in finance or accounting, preferably with an NGO or development project. Experience working with QuickBooks (QBE) or another computerized accounting system. Strong understanding of financial documentation, internal controls, and compliance requirements. Familiarity with donor-funded projects, preferably U.S. Department of State regulations. Knowledge of Burundian tax laws and statutory reporting. Experience supporting external audits is an asset. Preferred Qualifications Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
